I totally heart Montreal. The only trouble with that being the place to move to from the States is that Quebec has super-weird immigration requirements. When I went to McGill I had to apply to Quebec Immigration first and only after they accepted me could I get a Canadian student visa. I've heard from my friends that the other provinces don't have this requirement.
