Snacky

I went to the gym again today, this time for 45 minutes of 5-minutes on, 5-minutes off running/walking. That was kind of fun. Coworker Amanda was there, so now we can both say that we went to the gym. Heh. It was kind of weird knowing she was there on the elliptical trainer behind me on the treadmill. I feel kind of bizarre going to an all-woman gym. On one hand, I like only having women there because it feels nicer and because there are no meathead boys. On the other hand, I've never been surrounded by so many women at one time except for, say, an Ani DiFranco concert or the March for Women's Lives.

My Jennifer made a positively delicious dinner but I am still feeling snacky. DAMN THAT SNACKY FEELING!

I felt snacky, then I ate an entire bag of potato chips. Now I feel gluttonous.

All-womens gyms are sooo great. The dynamic is completely different from regular gyms. It's kinda like a giant slumber party, but with sweating.

I like the sound of your gym. If it were on my side of the city, I think I might look into it. Perhaps I'll try to find a womens' gym there.

I looked at the Planet Fitness near North Quincy, which is moving to right beside the Sozio's furniture store very shortly, but with the move they are getting rid of the women's only room. That was the only thing I liked about it, so I don't think I'll be looking into that any further. Plus I'd rather it be closer to home--less trafficy early in the morning, and more likely that I'll make it there on a weekend morning.

hurrah for the gym! Do you have anything specifically you're working towards?

Don't fight the "snacky." Have lots of little meals. It will up your metabolism. Also, don't worry so much about the snacky thing. Snack, just make sure it's healthy. Food is not the devil. I know you've probably heard all this before, but take it from someone who lost over 40 lbs. in one year (when I was in college). Eat small, frequent meals and don't be scared of carbs. Granted, I gained a little back (about 20), but 105 lbs. is too thin when you're 5'6" - I keep saying that, but my 130 lbs. don't feel it. . .

Or you can take my latest approach, which is to only keep food that you hate around the house. I pretty much limit it to pet food ;)

I'm the opposite, though, I don't ever want to eat at night, but daytime is hard to not constantly nibble in this stupid grey cubicle. Nighttime nibbling. . .that's different.
