I think it's so sad that you can spot autism in a child that is only 1 1/2.

(Well, I think it's great that you can get an early diagnosis and start services early, but you know what I mean.)

My baby brother is autistic. While I don't remember if we had a formal diagnosis at that point, you could definitely tell something was up when he was that age.

Oh yeah, there are definitely signs, especially when kids are closer to the actual "autism" end of the spectrum. But it's so rare that I see a kid that young with an actual diagnosis already, and it's still a little sad.

I'm floored by the amount of autism spectrum disorders my agency sees just in its little corner of Boston.
