That does sound like a sucktastic day! Bummer dude.

I feel ya on the A/c though. I keep turning it up/off while we're not here and hubby keeps getting mad about it. But our last bill was the HIGHEST usage we've ever had while living here for 3 years now--YIKES! So, I'm clamping down.

I've also recently bought a box fan to circulate the less cool air. :)
