Summer fruit

I love summer because cherries are CHEAP. I could eat a bag of cherries a day, I swear. I can eat cherries until I'm ready to burst. I have had cherries every day this week.

SOMEBODY STOP ME!

Also, I have three pints of blueberries in my house. Blueberries were "buy one, get two free" at Shaw's. I am such a sucker for the free. Blueberries chew up my gut (thanks, Metformin!) but I can. not. stop.

I am such a binge eater when it comes to summer fruit.

I want to see you burst in an explosion of cherries!

freeze the blueberries and make blueberry pancakes all year!

well, you could be bingeing on much worse foods.

I love blueberries with yogurt!

i wish cherries were cheap here! they're $3.99/lb. right now and the last 2 bags i've bought were over $9!

but i don't care! they're SO GOOD! i can't stop eating them, either!

my fridge is FULL of fruit. like, i almost just wanted to have fruit salad for dinner last night. only, i don't think scott would have gone for that. :)

Oh, I know what you mean about the cherries! They're not so cheap here though. The Ranier cherries were ON SALE for $4.99/lb!! So, you can bet when we saw them at the Farmer's Market for $2.00, we got a HUGE bag of them. That was Sunday...they're gone now. ;-)

I'm with you on the blueberries, too. I've been taking all natural lowfat yogurt, throwing in blueberries and granola and drizzling it with honey. Holy Crap! SO GOOD!

you could binge on much worse than summer fruit.

the cherries in Portland (OR) were absolutely incredible. Just picked that morning mmmmm...

I ate a ton of those yellow cherries because they were cheap. My stomach is mad at me about that.

Ha - perfect that Patti messaged you here. I have to tell you that the first time I read this through I thought immediately about thenight that Patti, Scott and Fisher came over to my house when I lived in Baker and Fisher was eating blueberries BY THE BUSHEL.

Then Patti changed his diaper and his poop was blue...and I saw it and I laughed.

I don't want to see your poop though, sokay by me.

Patti - Giant Eagle had Bing Cherries for sale two days ago when Nikki and I went...maybe they still are?

Sicko. :)

(You'll have to come visit for that.)

I'm going to freeze one pint but I doubt if they will last a month! (I LOVE BLUEBERRIES!)

[identity profile] judecorp.livejournal.com 2006-07-14 06:07 pm (UTC)(link)
Me too me too! And granola! :)

[identity profile] judecorp.livejournal.com 2006-07-14 06:08 pm (UTC)(link)
I think the LAST thing I need is a Sentra older than my old Sentra! :) Besides, I want that new Versa! BEEP BEEP!

[identity profile] judecorp.livejournal.com 2006-07-14 06:09 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, most of the time they're around $5/lb. So it works out when it's cheap. (And I gorge.) But you're right, it shouldn't matter because they're the most delicious things ever... but I can't bear to pay like $12 for cherries!

I would totally eat fruit salad for dinner!

[identity profile] judecorp.livejournal.com 2006-07-14 06:10 pm (UTC)(link)
I once ate so many blueberries (last summer?) that not only did it upset my stomach in a MAJOR way, but the result was seriously blue. It was crazy!

I'm hurt that you don't want to see my poop, though. *cries*

[identity profile] judecorp.livejournal.com 2006-07-14 06:11 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh my gosh I could eat cherries every day! For real, every day. I love them so much!

And I love blueberries with yogurt and granola, minus the honey. (I don't like honey.) I usually throw in some flax oil for good measure. :)

[identity profile] judecorp.livejournal.com 2006-07-14 06:11 pm (UTC)(link)
JEALOUS.

[identity profile] judecorp.livejournal.com 2006-07-14 06:12 pm (UTC)(link)
I have only had those yellow cherries a couple of times. But I love them, too. I love all cherries! YUM!

[identity profile] damdyke.livejournal.com 2006-07-14 06:16 pm (UTC)(link)
Mmm...cherries and blueberries and granola, OH MY! The flax is good stuff, man. We've been grinding up the seed and adding it to all kinds of stuff. It's like fun little bugs in oatmeal cause it expands! ;-)

[identity profile] judecorp.livejournal.com 2006-07-21 01:04 am (UTC)(link)
I've never ground up flax seeds... usually I just use the oil and add it to stuff. But expanding bugs sounds like fun!

[identity profile] judecorp.livejournal.com 2006-07-21 01:07 am (UTC)(link)
Let's get together and gorge on fruit! :)
