I hate money.

I am sitting her going over and over how to afford to take all of us to [livejournal.com profile] keelamonster's wedding. I found great flights. But then thinking about how to afford a hotel and food on top of that is making my head hurt.

Maybe tomorrow the flights will be sold out and it will all be a non-issue. Feh.

if you haven't tried it, there is a great price comparison site called kayak.com - it's not a place to buy, but rather a compilation of sites like priceline, hotwire, orbitz, and in one place.

i would also highly recommend trying the priceline "name your price" area too, as you can sometimes negotiate down to some lesser rates. good luck!

I am a big lover of kayak. I thought I was the only one who had heard of it!

I can't "name a price" this time around because Jen has to work the day before so times are critical... and times are always critical with a toddler. :) xo

Take a look at Travelocity's Flight+Hotel thingy. I went to DC last month and used their Flight+Car to find a deal for $270, when the best they could do for just a flight was $400.

Yeah, there is a decent "flight + hotel" deal but unfortunately the wedding isn't all that close to the nearest airport (which is where the hotel is), so that's kind of a bummer. It's more the magnitude of flights, hotel, rental car, meals, etc. in addition to finding wedding clothes and procuring a wedding gift.

Bleh.

You could uh...make it a car camping trip and pack your own meals? Make a wedding gift, and spruce up your own best clothes by doing that dry cleaning in your own dryer kit.
