Baby Story

Oh. My. God.

So sometimes in the morning, as if to punish myself, I put on "A Baby Story" while I'm doing my general morning things. And this morning's woman is having a water birth, and she is SCREAMING and crying and begging and moaning and FREAKING ME OUT. She keeps talking about how she can't do it and she's going to die or whatever and umm... *gulp*.

I really need to stop watching this show. Dude.

Knitted blanket goodness!

I took some pictures of the two gorgeous blankets we've received for our baby. And now you can all be jealous!

Here is the blanket that [livejournal.com profile] stacy made for us. Hooray, Stacy!

And here is the blanket that [livejournal.com profile] aminahfiddler made for us. Hooray, Kathy!

They are just so fabulous. Thanks, guys, for all of your hard work!

Every day is like a holiday.

Oh my gosh, the past several days have been like Christmas! It is so bizarre to come home to packages on the stoop every day. (It is also so bizarre to have moved from Dorchester to a town where a shipping person can apparently leave things like a brand new stroller in a box on someone's front steps (we don't even have a porch) in plain view without it disappearing. But I digress.)

I drove into the driveway with my eyes on the front steps because I wanted to check if the Freecyclers had picked up our unwanted stuff. (They did.) Instead I saw more boxes!

Marian ([livejournal.com profile] obviouspseudo) sent us the Pack 'n Play that matches the stroller that matches the car seat. WOW! Holy generous!

And Emmy ([livejournal.com profile] cappucinogrrl) sent us some cloth prefolds (that we're planning to use for burp cloths and changing pads) and a waterproof car seat liner. Thanks, Emmy, they will be put to good use!

I am floored by the overwhelming generosity of our friends far and near. Some of you I haven't seen in ages and ages (gosh, Marian, when DID I see you last? I feel like I was a teenager.), some of you I've seen more recently, and one of you I've never even seen!

I am speechless. Truly.
