An open apology to my body

Dear body,

I know I said I would stop doing this. I promised that I would eat at least one full meal and one pseudo-meal every day. And drink lots of water. I know that I swore up and down that I wouldn't slip back into not sleeping and not eating. I'm sorry I gave you the shakes, and I'm sorry that you're dehydrated, and I'm sorry you're tired.

I'm drinking water right now - are you happy? When that settles in my stomach, we can talk breakfast. Just please, please, PLEASE stop being queasy. I know you've had a rough couple of days.

Love,
Jude

p.s. Here's some orange juice. You like that.

I'm nobody's wife and I'm nobody's baby
I like it that way, but then again, maybe...
And I'm nobody's Valentine and I'm nobody's pearl
When you get right down to it, I always seem to find just some girl, singing
There are monsters, there are angels
There's a peacefulness and a rage inside us all
There is sugar and there is salt
There is ice and there is fire in every single heart
There are monsters, there are angels.
I'm nobody's promise, and I'm nobody's chore
And I ain't got nobody that I feel I've got to live for
(nobody to live for)
And I'm nobody's work, and I'm nobody's company
And every time I turn around I always seem to find just me, singing
There are monsters, there are angels...

Nobody's Baby

I've searched the holy books
I tried to unravel the mystery of Jesus Christ, the saviour
I've read the poets and the analysts
Searched through the books on human behaviour
I travelled this world around
For an answer that refused to be found
I don't know why and I don't know how
But she's nobody's baby now

I loved her then and I guess I love her still
Hers is the face I see when a certain mood moves in
She lives in my blood and skin
Her wild feral stare, her dark hair
Her winter lips as cold as stone
Yeah, I was her man
But there are some things love won't allow
I held her hand but I don't hold it now
I don't know why and I don't know how
But she's nobody's baby now

This is her dress that I loved best
With the blue quilted violets across the breast
And these are my many letters
Torn to pieces by her long-fingered hand
I was her cruel-hearted man
And though I've tried to lay her ghost down
She's moving through me, even now
I don't know why and I don't know how
But she's nobody's baby now
She's nobody's baby now
Nobody's baby now
She's nobody's baby now

Thanks for the MP3s! I'm not a big Cabaret fan, but thanks! :)

Yeah but how can you pass on:

The continent of Europe is so wide Mein Herr
Not only up and down but side to side Mein Herr
I couldn't even cross it if I tried Mein Herr
But I do
Inch by Inch
Step by Step
Mile by Mile
Man by Man

*grins deliriously*

OK that always makes me smile.

Ha ha ha. Okay, you have a point. :)

Hope you feel better...

And, yeah, drink lots of water. Lots and lots. Water is good :-)

*hugs*

I'm all about the water today.

Which means I'm also all about the bathroom. :)

*hugs*

I hope you feel better soon, honey. *hugs*

Water is good. Saltines and ginger-ale are good too, for an upset tummy. Caffeine is bad, it sucks water out of your body. Icky.

Cool darkness and quiet are also a plus. =)

*hugs* s'more.

Love,
Your Evil Twin

Thanks, dear. I couldn't really do the sleep thing, as I had to go to class and then to work.

But the orange juice boosted the blood sugar, which quelled the shakes. And the quart of water I drank before class helped the dehydration, which helped the tummy.

So I'm all good now, if a little tired. :) Thanks for the suggestions. You'd think I would know better by now - this has been my body for almost 26 years!

Bleah. I got sick too. =(
Much intimate relations with the bathroom.
Had to miss work, otherwise I would have thrown up on my supervisor.
(Not necessarily a bad thing.)

Orange juice, yes. It helped a lot.

Better today.

I am so sorry if I made you sick. =(
Though maybe it was Parking Man who put some evil "violation" cooties on us.

ps : I *love* Voice of the Beehive.

[identity profile] judecorp.livejournal.com 2001-08-23 03:08 pm (UTC)(link)
Tee hee!

I was just dehydrated and had low blood sugar. I don't think you gave me anything (as much as you would have liked to swap germs with me, heh). I'm glad you're feeling better. I felt better in the late afternoon yesterday. All better! (But I couldn't skip school or work, poo.)

Wow - you've actually HEARD of Voice of the Beehive? Were you hiding your coolness from me? Or keeping it a secret between you and Parking Man? :)

"cos you see gurl sorrow it floats"

[identity profile] zarabeth.livejournal.com 2001-08-23 03:26 pm (UTC)(link)
In fact I have both that Beehive album, Honey Lingers, and an earlier one Let it Bee --
which is a preciously silly pun of a title. Though I don't have Sex & Misery which is the third
album.

But then I am a conneisseuse(?) of fine British girly pop. =)

And I can spell. I just never took French. =)

(At least not your french ... speaking of swapping germs)

[identity profile] judecorp.livejournal.com 2001-08-23 04:05 pm (UTC)(link)
Aah, I only have Honey Lingers. And I have it on cassette, because I got it in high school. Someday, pretty please, will you let me borrow the others? I'll lend other things back in return.

(Except lips. You can't borrow those.)

Connoisseuse.

[identity profile] zarabeth.livejournal.com 2001-08-23 04:28 pm (UTC)(link)
Aw. =) I will leave your lips be.
For now. ;-)

Actually I only have them on cassette also. Because I am that old and crusty.

I do want to borrow your Pooh books though.

We'll trade. Pooh for Beehive. :)

You'll have to fight Ms. Star for the lips. And she, erm, kicks ass.

Come to my schwanky pad of angst sometime!
