The setting is gorgeous...how close is it to that pond?

I'd be worried having babies around there...toddlers + pond = scary, at least for me.

[identity profile] judecorp.livejournal.com 2005-07-06 12:07 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, definitely scary. I get the impression from the photos that the pond is not on the property, and that the house has the whole fence thing, but yeah. Forget just toddlers - it's scarier for bigger kids who might try to jump the fence and go swimming by themselves!

I wish you could get out there, too. It's so pretty!

Those are some gorgeous homes!

so amazing...houses are hot

I know, seriously!

First off, Belchertown is just way too awesome a name to give up. It would almost be worth it to me to live there, too.

Secondly, why is there always a toilet in the middle of the laundry room?

[identity profile] judecorp.livejournal.com 2005-07-06 12:12 am (UTC)(link)
1. You should totally live next door to me!

2. I think it's a combo bathroom/laundry room.

[identity profile] rizzo41.livejournal.com 2005-07-06 02:25 am (UTC)(link)
2. Gee.. you think so?!? My point is.. why? That's such a wrong combination to me. Sometimes these laundry rooms don't even have proper doors or sinks. Just a washer, a dryer... and a toilet.

[identity profile] judecorp.livejournal.com 2005-07-06 02:45 am (UTC)(link)
Maybe if your washer breaks you can finish up the laundry in the toilet! =P

Nah, Belchertown is one of the "blah" communities. It's pretty, but there are water issues, some weird extra tax if you have land above a certain elevation (a pretty view) and it's getting overflow from Amherst and a LOT of eastern MA and CT live there as a bedroom community.

There's lots of other options still around here for rural and cheap that have fewer downsides. :)

[identity profile] judecorp.livejournal.com 2005-07-06 01:53 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah but see, it's all just fantasy unless we end up with things like jobs. Otherwise, I don't need to care about communities, taxes, water... I just get to play pretend with the housing listings. :)

...because it's what I do...

quickly: 4 bed, 2.5 bath, 2333 square feet (about the size of our house), 2 car garage, 2 miles to BEACH, 1/2 an acre, $200K.

realtor.com is the bomb with a ph.

Woah, that's an OLD house! 1825! I'm kind of scared of houses that are pushing 200.

[identity profile] volumeat11.livejournal.com 2005-07-06 02:57 am (UTC)(link)
Nah, don't be. They all still have to pass an inspection when they sell anyway. And if they don't pass immediately, depending on what's wrong, you can get a "seller's credit toward closomg costs," which can be a hefty li'l amount sometimes...

Don't fear the old house. We have one.

[identity profile] judecorp.livejournal.com 2005-07-13 01:12 am (UTC)(link)
I still have the fear!!

[identity profile] volumeat11.livejournal.com 2005-07-13 02:45 am (UTC)(link)
No fear. Old places have character -- and it's good character.

Besides, inspections are a beautiful thing...
