beta

Beta was 260. Or maybe it was 270. I was a little flustered. I think 260, though. I had to ask a second time. I think I said, "Can you tell me that number again because I was totally not paying attention?" and the nurse laughed and said I was cute. I said, "No way, just telling the truth."

Wow, they are way nicer to you on the phone when you are pregnant.

Also, they apparently don't do repeat betas at my clinic unless your intial is under 100. Most places do 2 or 3. They said I could ask for another if I am feeling like I need one. They do not know how neurotic I am. HA! (Seriously, though, I am trying not to ask for one.) Ultrasound on the 7th (5w6d). Good times.

Well obviously the less stressed you are, the better. I'd be the same way. At least further along in the pregnancy, you'll be able to feel the baby moving and stuff to know that all is well. For now, if having a second beta will make you feel that much better, I still say go for it. Maybe ask for it on Monday though? If things are still going well by then, that should make you feel tons better...if you get it done Friday, you'll be wondering by Monday. ;)

Yeah, I'm going to go on Monday now. I asked for a progesterone check, too. I just found out that my doctor's office doesn't do them routinely? (Why the heck not??!?!?)

That is rather odd, you'd think if you're going through so much trouble just to get someone pregnant, you'd want to ensure that conditions are ideal to keep them that way!

Dude, I know, right??!?!

If you have ANY questions about progesterone levels and treatment, talk to [livejournal.com profile] hiddentask - it's how she got Ian here.
