It's true. I was married before, from 1999-2002, though we broke up in 2001. He's a very lovely young man who lives in a cute house with his new girlfriend whom I like very much. :) I am also currently married, thank you Massachusetts.

I was put on Metformin when I had a bunch of bloodwork that showed I had an above-normal amount of insulin floating around (insulin resistance), an increased amount of testosterone, and hadn't ovulated in a million years. My PCP said that was enough.

However, reproductive endocrinologists are now also giving Metformin to people with polycystic ovaries WITHOUT insulin resistance and finding that it helps, as well as to people with "poor egg quality" who tend to then get better responses to IVF stims. I dunno. I guess because insulin binds to estrogen, and if you take some of the insulin away, you can raise estrogen better?

Gender issues aside, I ended up being the poster child for Metformin. I dropped weight like woah, had "normal" blood panels, and got a very regular cycle.
