I have a big kid.
Punk is getting very big all of a sudden. It's like she was a baby for a long time and then something snapped and now she is gearing up to be a toddler. It's freaking me out!

As for her first day at child care:
She didn't nap. She also didn't eat much (had 6oz of milk instead of 8, had 1/2 a jar of food instead of a whole jar). And she fell somewhere, somehow and got a good bump under her left eye. I am trying not to make a big deal about that, after all, kids fall - especially kids who are suddenly obsessed with pulling up and are not terribly coordinated. She was happy when I left, and happy when I got back, although you could tell that she was so far past overtired that she had lost all control of herself and had zero ability to calm her body down. (I'm guessing this is how she fell.) When I picked her up, she went wild climbing me and tried to bite my shoulder (which is what she does when she is overdone and doesn't know how to calm down).
She crashed out immediately in the car and woke up about 25 minutes later. I got her into the house and she was still so exhausted, yet it took me an HOUR to calm her down and settle her for a nap. Ugh. And then she only took an hour nap. Double ugh. And she was STARVING by dinner time.
Hopefully she will be able to sleep at M's house SOON, because spending an hour with her screaming from exhaustion yet unable to get into sleep was really taxing.

C doesn't sleep well at daycare. She never has. Thankfully we're usually able to pick her up early enough that we've made a routine out of her taking a nap when we get home.

Like others have said, it's a huge adjustment and for awhile things will be up and down and topsy turvy. She can't verbally express herself so things will come out in changes of eating and sleeping and behavior. Hopefully it will all even out pretty fast.
Hugs to you, I know it's not easy. My boys had a super hard time with daycare - but Hannah, she took to it like it was no big deal and i had to BRIBE her to get her out of there most days. :)

Maybe we should swap for a day. Your kids are super cute.

I think it will all turn out fine in the end, but in some ways I can't wait for her to go to full days so that when she doesn't sleep all morning, it's still M's problem in the afternoon. ;)

She IS getting big. It blows my mind to think that Gus was 5 months when Morella was born..I mean I thought she was super old at the time and now I think "wait, this is nothing -- they are still little babies!"

I don't care too much about bumps but on the first day? Sheesh!

He has yet to get hurt -- but since he learned to roll over, YESTERDAY, that's a-coming, I'm sure...
Hugs to enormous Punk.
