Effing Bogus Chain E-mails!

My uncle recently acquired my e-mail address because I made the mistake of thanking him for a picture he sent to me via my brother. Since then, he has sent me a bazillion e-mail forwards that I typically delete without even opening. I made the mistake of opening one this evening, and not only is it falser than false (of course), it is politically inflammatory. (My uncle is the lone conservative in the family.) BLAH!

I sent him an e-mail pointing him to the snopes link for the falseness and a request for no more forwarded e-mails. Argh. I hate this stuff. I'm pretty non-confrontational for the most part but I /hate/ the political crap and he knows it, too.

i had to finally ask my dad to stop forwarding me crap. i know he just does it to jerk my chain, but he finally sent one that was blatantly racist and i just couldn't stand it anymore. grrrr.

Why do people even post forwards, anyway? They are so annoying, even if I "agree" with the stupid message. My uncle seems to be sending them to his entire address book - I just don't want them anymore! Bleh.

My grandfather keeps sending me random forwards and so does my mom's boyfriend. I've mostly trained my mom out of it but not 100 percent. Joy.

my great-uncle's wife would send me forwards when she got my email address. Never any real content. I asked her to stop forwarding me stuff and she never spoke to me again. Oh well.

I had the same problem with an aunt who I didn't even like. She wouldn't stop forwarding me garbage, lies, and religious crap. When I asked her to stop, she said "Well, I just thought you would want to know we're thinking of you even when you're so far away!" (This is right after I moved up here.) I told her that she could send me a personal email instead. Never heard back.

I sometimes feel bad because my dad will forward me something every once in a while and say "I am so sorry! I know you hate when people forward things!" but he still does it. But he's cute. He only sends me cat stuff.

I've had more than one person stop speaking to me for asking them very nicely not to send me anything they didn't write themselves, while stressing that I love dearly receiving anything that they did write to me. At the time, I was quite bewildered and upset by their reaction, and now I can't even remember who they were.

My father used to send me really inappropriate stuff, like pictures of naked women. Once he sent me a picture of a woman in a business suit peeing on the sidewalk. Finally I just knew that if he said, "Did you check your e-mail yet?" I should just RUN AWAY.

Syndee's father did this all the time. I just deleted them all immediately without looking at them after a while. Then Syndee noticed that one of the things he sent me was pornographic in nature (even if it was "humorous") and he got in trouble. Now for some reason he doesn't send me stuff anymore. Go figure.
