It just so happens that 4 of my 9th grade students at Whitehall got expelled. While this is not so good for them, it means that my 8am groups are smaller now, which makes them more manageable... and 3 of the most belligerant, distracting group members are gone now (one of them was a really good kid). 8am group was very productive, went very well, and involved very little ickiness. YAY!

9am group was good as usual. This is good. 10:30 group at RJHS was okay... some of the kids aren't showing up because they think it's "boring." These are the same kids who don't talk. Aah well.

But during Supervision, when I was airing frustrations about a client to my superviser (while playing with his LEGOs, hee, I love working with child therapists!), he made a point to tell me that my play therapy skills were really awesome and that I was doing incredible work with this girl. Score! And during Team Meeting today, Marje was presenting for peer review, which I like. (I really like peer review - it gives me ideas about treatments and also reinforces that old pros have clinical issues, too.) After the meeting, she stopped me to tell me that I gave some really good comments (on one of them, she actually said to the room, "Oh, did everyone hear that? That's really good.") and that I was going to make an excellent clinician. (This is me smiling, even though I don't know if I want to do therapy.)

I got home, and the impossible happened! You see, I spent most of yesterday coming up with ads for The Lantern, OSU's campus newspaper, for work. My boss wants to run a number of quarter-page ads about heterosexism and homophobia. I made two of them yesterday, one of them I /really/ liked, and the other which was kind of blah but I was running out of steam. I got this email:

I really like what you did with the ads, especially the "if you are LGB" one. The caps and "Getting the Message" behind the text work really well. I can't wait to show it to people! *laughs* (and I will be sure to give you credit!).

On an unrelated note, I listened to "That Particular Time" by Alanis Morissette about six times today. I get a lump in my throat every time. Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] thespian for pointing the lyrics out to me which encouraged me to buy the CD right away. (That and a positive review by [livejournal.com profile] cappucinogrrl!)

I had a client cancellation today, so I was able to go through some articles and outline the next section of my paper. Hopefully this will cut down on the time it takes me to do my 4 pages, since I need to add a quote to and edit my Families paper (the Salesman one) before I print it out, and I'm observing a tae kwon do class from 7:30-9:00 so I can see if I want to take the class as an independent study in the Spring Quarter.

I am so far behind, I think I'm first. BUT, I'm a good clinician! For some odd reason, I'm /really/ happy about that.
