Nearly trip time!
Mar. 22nd, 2002 07:06 pmCoworker Velma just called, and will be here in about half an hour. I'm a little nervous about this trip now, just because she's starting to get really antsy about it and not very positive. Earlier she was saying how expensive it's going to be and how she doesn't want to drive. Then she went home and called me and asked if I wanted to leave at like 3am so she could get some sleep.
Now, I will do anything she wants since I'm a tagalong, but I really don't want to get up at 3am, and besides, she would end up not getting there in time to pick up her friend from the airport. She's coming now, but she says she has a headache and cramps and is unhappy, and I don't know what that means for the trip. She's really stressing. Ew.
She wants to drive straight through now. I'm guessing she's planning to sleep in the car and alternate drivers. Cool except that I can't sleep in cars, so either I caffienate heavily to stay up, or I beg and pay for both of us to stay somewhere. Either way, though, she will be unhappy, I fear.
I am determined to make this a good trip. She's upset because she wants me to drive straight to Boston with her, and I need her to drop me off in Rhode Island so I can see my family. I told her a long time ago that I was going to RI. I mean, how am I going to get from Boston to RI with my big honkin' suitcase? Bleh. Like I said, stress.
Either way, I'll be off in about a half an hour, and tomorrow I will be on the east coast, and that rocks. Verily. I have packed. I hope I'm not forgetting anything, but I'm sure I am. Aah well. :) I brought the divorce madlibs book, A Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius (which is turning out to be REALLY good!), and Good Omens. Yay. Books. Pleasure reading books. Yay yay yay.
I'll miss you
columbus peeps. Mwah!

UPDATE! If anyone in Boston (and I hate doing this, so please don't feel obligated) thinks they would want to (for big thank yous and lunch?) drive me and my suitcase from somewhere in Boston (likely the Logan Airport area) to my dad's house in Woonsocket (about 1 hour away), please call my phone, which will be on. But if you can't or don't want to, that's cool. :)
