Last night, I had dinner alone with badadam.
This afternoon, I had lunch alone with whod81.
What positively pleasant experiences.

I'm suddenly feeling very sad about moving away. Between walking at Antrim with crena, Tayler and Tyler, goofing with the boys, and lots of AIM with assorted klumbis lovelies, I am going to seriously miss this place.

Adam was trying to convince me to stay here in columbus. It would certainly be a hell of a lot easier to live with a $28K social work salary here instead of Boston (which would require an equivalent of over $60K) - here I could buy a house; there I'll be eating ramen and living in squalor.

Is it crazy of me to be considering it? I could get a job here with little incident, since I will be getting my MSW here. Of course, my family isn't here. I miss a lot of people in the b0st0n area.

*sigh* It's terribly hard to be a Libra sometimes.

Jude, you need to do what's best for you.
As aliandra told me to do multiple times, make yourself a pro and con list.
Making less than minor ducats is the reason I didn't stay in Boston, too... I just couldn't afford to live.
We'll support you no matter what.

Do what I do when I have a tough decision to make. I smoke alot of Peyote and then I cover myself in mustard and talk to my cactus and it tells me that I need to kill the giant fox on my friends head by beating it to death with a baseball bat. I then wake up in a dumpster behind tacobell with a homeless man in my arms and I have my answer. I hope this helps.

Well, neither place is Atlanta, so there's a Jost deficiency either way. But I will come and visit you in either place so at least you can stop worrying about that. Ramen isn't bad but squalor is, so I would seriously consider my options to not put myself in squalor.

People want you to stay and go live where they live a lot, don't they? We all want to bask in the light of your glory!;) You make friends oretty darn good and everyone wants the Jude!

You know what the pros and cons of either place, of any place really, already....and you know what you want and what you don't want...

Whatever you choose, its up to you to make *you* happy....no one else can or will do it for you.

People are going to miss you wherever you decide to live. But they will understand and they will support you wherever you decide to go.

You know, I hate to be the kind of person who's hung up on money, but it's really eye opening that here I could buy my very own house, and there, I might not even be able to afford a 1-bedroom apartment with 6 people in it.

Hon, It goes without saying that I'm going to tell you to do whatever you want. When I first moved to Boston I figured (for myself) that I could live on $25,000. That was a few years ago, and things have changed, but maybe not that much. Now, I'm not so much the person to advise you. Maybe you should talk to other folks here, who survive on similar salaries, and see how they're doing, if they'll share that with you.

Whatever you decide, it should be whatever makes you happy.

I think you should stay. I've been to Boston. I detest Boston. I have horrid memories of flying in to Logan and spending 3 hours in horrible traffic trying to get 30 mi away. 3 hours of bumper to bumper traffic on a Sunday night can make me hate any city. :-)
