Because it's time. :)
Aside from the obvious, some things here have been very VERY good. I got to relieve a frazzled Princess on not one but several occasions (and we all know how I live for those moments). I got to go dancing, even if it was just one time instead of two (damn Culture Club for being in SoHo). I missed Robert Sean Leonard, but Jode took the day out of work for me on Tuesday, and I didn't have to worry about her. That was worth it.
Yesterday I went to the movies ("O") with Jode and my friend Chrissy, who I've known since grade 9. I'd forgotten how completely funny she is. Chrissy gives smart girls a bad name. She spilled soda all over her breasts and had absolutely no idea, and then spent the rest of the afternoon with her shirt on backwards. She also watched half of the movie behind her hands ("I'm a romantic comedy kind of girl, what can I say?") I cruised up to the end of the F to catch up with
ennuiennui and just be relieved that we were both safe and we were both in front of each other. Lovely? Amazing? Wonderful? Safe? Absolutely.
Today I was tired of feeling useless, so I started cleaning
rizzo41's apartment, in expectation of our upcoming Murder Mystery Party. Get this: I *ironed*. (That's for you, Mark. Ha! But I ironed table cloth type things, not clothes, ha ha ha.) Write that down.
What has surprised me is how much all of you
crazy kids worried about me. I think I'm going to find all of your entries about me and add them to my LJ Memories to remind me of how loved I am.
laurajones even emailed
ennuiennui to see if we were alright, because she was afraid I wouldn't check my email. Nice. You rock, Laura. All of you rock.
I got to see my old boss from Hofstra, Rose, who is the greatest ever. She casually mentioned that I should move into her spare bedroom. You have NO idea how well that would make everything come together for me.
And the most UP news of all, and on Tuesday, no less. I got email from the director of OSU's GLBTSS asking me to call him at home, which I did. He regretted to inform me that he had to offer the assistantship I wanted to someone else. However, a student who was supposed to fill this other assistantship position decided not to attend OSU. He said he was really happy about it, because he really liked me and wanted to give me something. He offered me the job on the phone. I accepted. YAY!
It's 5:30. Kathy can call me anytime. I still want to catch her and Jerk for dinner.
