She's got the magic power of the music...
Things to do today:
1. Brunch with
qaphsiel at Cap City (yum)
2. Get quarters
3. Laundry
4. Other errands - bank, etc.
I think at some point I should start packing up things I don't really need. Things like toys. Problem is I really like having toys around, and they don't take long to pack. And I'm not all that eager to have a zillion boxes in my bedroom.
I want to go car stereo shopping sometime soon. I can use my brand new AOL survey money. Thanks again for the referral, Patti. It will almost pay for a shiny new CD player for the car. This is a very cool thing.
I talked to my grandparents this morning. (I am so dutiful.) My grandfather's nosebleeds have subsided (YAY!). My grandmother's cousin died last week, and so did some other "relative" of mine. I don't know how true that is - my grandfather has always called every Portuguese person in southern New England my cousin. I don't remember this person, "Isabella's mother," but my grandmother insists I know her. Sometimes she confuses people I would know with people my father would know, though.
My grandmother will be 80 in August. That is just amazing. I want her and my grandfather to live forever. I love them so much. My uncle is having a cook-out for the 4th of July. My uncle's cook-outs involve lobsters, steamers, and corn on the cob. It's enough to buy airfare for, especially since I can fly to Providence right now for $109. I think I'll buy tickets for 4th of July /and/ for Jessica and Mark's wedding (August 17th) now if I can. Of course, it all depends on the Shani-apartment-scouting, but I really don't think I'll take the place even if it's amazing. I just don't have the energy to plan a cross-country move right now. L-A-Z-I-N-E-S-S. I took my profile off that Roommate Access place.
I looked at a one-bedroom apartment in Victorian Village yesterday (a little "curiosity killed the cat" situation), and I took Lara with me. It was tiny! Hee - she should be a real estate liaison. "Do mostly students live here?" "Do you like it here?" "Have you even lined your windows with plastic?" She is so funny. And beautiful. Not in that 'hump' way, but in that 'as a person' way. (Well, hell, she's beautiful on the inside /and/ on the outside.) There will be something special missing when she's gone. :(
I miss Jennifer. She's up at camp and is out-of-contact right now. (Phone service doesn't work there, no internet set up yet, I guess.) I think I'm going to make one of my errands a little shopping excursion for a camp care package. I miss talking to her something fierce. However, I did have two lovely IMchats this morning - my big brother Baga and Miss Christina. Yay!
Hurry up, Cary, I'm starving. I need a Seiko sports watch.
