The reason I love to watch My Girl is so that I can watch the friendship between Vada and Thomas J. There's nothing more beautiful than two kids learning about life together, and doing it with laughter. I am in no way a fan of anything Culkin, but the actors are so genuine and wonderful and real. I think that in life and love, we're all trying to recreate that friendship we had in pre-adolescence. My Girl could have been written about me and Keith LaFrance, the boy who lived upstairs.

I haven't seen that movie in a long time, but in this early afternoon, in my pajamas, on my couch with the Ralph kitty and the Chronicle and the giggles, I felt just like that. Are you my Vada Sultenfuss?

Thomas J.: Vada?
Vada: Yeah?
Thomas J.: Would you think of me?
Vada: For what?
Thomas J.: Well, if you don't get to marry Mr. Bixler.
Vada: I guess.
