It's time for the obligatory New Years Eve/New Years Day event breakdown, I suppose. Since I had an especially good time, it seems like a great way to pass a little time and make me forget about how hungry I am. (I really don't want to eat my bean burrito.)

I got out of work at 6:30pm on Tuesday night, spent a little time with The GirlTM, and then took a shower. [livejournal.com profile] doulamel came over and the three of us walked to Haiku. Good timing - [livejournal.com profile] dina and [livejournal.com profile] pjgrrl were standing outside and [livejournal.com profile] 356dreamer was just pulling into the parking lot. Our table was waiting for us and we pigged out. Then [livejournal.com profile] laughingsal joined us and she graced my eyes with this fantastic poem about me:
judey jude jude slut
do i know you? i don't think
so dirty tramp whore

From there, the whole gaggle of us headed to Wall Street in two cars, and Steve almost got us killed. Oops. When we were looking for Tara, PJ, and Mel, we went upstairs and bumped into [livejournal.com profile] tandex and Stefanie, [livejournal.com profile] loudprincess, and [livejournal.com profile] chutup and Joe. I also saw Jason-David, a boy I used to work with. He was tending bar.

During the course of the night, I saw Missy Goodtimes gyrating in a hot young lesbian sandwich. I got to dance with everyone, especially my Jennifer, with whom I had never danced before. I danced with Jared and Stef and yelled, "I am in a married people sandwich," a statement that later appeared in Stef's dreams. I got cheek kisses from everyone, and kissed The GirlTM so much that people were telling us to get a room. (Jealous much?) I didn't drink much - 4 Jack&Cokes and the champagne toast - and just generally had a great time. I saw this guy Will that I know, and he was all over this guy Chuck. Soon they were grinding all over me and this Chuck guy felt me up and down. That was sort of interesting. I lei'd him. I also got to dance with [livejournal.com profile] doulamel.

After the club, we were going to head home but I wanted a milkshake, so I made them go to Steak and Shake. Then they gave us the wrong bill (for a table of 2, not 5) - FREE FOOD. Mel stayed over, and we all went to bed around 4am or so.

We got up at noon and got ready to head to Union Station for lunch. We met up with [livejournal.com profile] chutup, [livejournal.com profile] loudprincess, [livejournal.com profile] tandex and Stef, [livejournal.com profile] laughingsal, [livejournal.com profile] lemur68, and three boys that I didn't know. We had an amazingly funny server (Angelique) and had a pretty good time. I got heavily caffeinated. Some of the girls came over after for a little bit, and then Jennifer and I crashed in bed for a while, which means we missed Steve's movie night party.

By the time I connected with Steve, it was after 7:00 and the prospect of driving out to Groveport, watching half a movie, and driving back wasn't something I was up for. I ended up waking Jennifer up around 8pm and making her walk to Coffee Table with me to chat with [livejournal.com profile] grrlpower for a while. I think we exhausted our conversation options after a short while, and I left feeling kind of weird. Jen said I seemed nervous. She was probably right - she's good at that sort of thing.

I packed some clothes and we went to Jen's to get ready for bed. We curled under the covers and talked for about an hour and a half about our dreams, both for 2003 and beyond. It was the perfect end to a really great couple of days.

Missy Goodtimes is a dirty tramp.

I have, for as long as I can remember, wanted a pea coat. I love them. I think that dark navy pea coats are quite possibly the best kind of coats ever. I would see people wearing them, or see them at their houses, and I would covet them.

I'm not usually a coveter. But they are so great, and I can't usually get myself to buy a coat. I mean, that can be a pricey purchase, and I'd usually rather spend the money on other things.

Last weekend, Jennifer and I went to Old Navy to spend her gift card, and I was going to spend a little bit of holiday money. I picked out a pair of pants. And then, on a whim, I tried on this coat, which was neat but didn't look all that good on me. It was on killer sale, though.

And then Jen said, "I think you should go try on the pea coats instead." And she pulled sizes off the rack and gave expert opinions, and when I wasn't sure, she said I really needed to buy the coat. She did this by telling me over and over how good I looked in it, with this great little glint in her beautiful eyes.

And I spent the money. And I bought the coveted dark navy pea coat. AND I /LOVE/ IT.
