Tired

I shouldn't be this tired because I think I got a fair amount of sleep. I went to bed a little later than I would have liked, and my mind stayed on for a little longer than that, but I slept through the night and didn't wake up from any crazy dreams. I did have a pleasant dream this morning about hanging out with [livejournal.com profile] rebasayre and [livejournal.com profile] kylesatt, though, which probably means we need to hang out soon. I miss you so much I'm dreaming about you, kids.

It's freaking COLD outside, yo. Columbus is frozen solid (which sucks, since it flooded all weekend).

But I'm tired, not the tired that makes your head foggy but the kind that makes your legs feel like they're filled with cement. Sitting in this chair, my heavy legs are pulling on my weak knees and making them ache. I hope desperately that this is not a weak hello from the depths of Jennifer's illness. I am keeping myself motivated with Sweet Tarts. Tangy, baby, that's me.

Our phone system at work is out. Interesting. It makes for a quiet morning. I'll be running around all afternoon, though, that will pick things up. Volunteering tonight after work until 9. I need to find time to get some relaxation and sleep. Maybe I'll ditch LJ tonight in favor of laying in bed with White Oleander, which is good but a tad disturbing given my current line of work.

I have been cramming for the Chorus concert on the 17th. It's like school. I come home from work and go over the songs for an hour, and then throughout the day I can't get snippets of the songs out of my head.

tears and strong arms at the end of the day
two thousand loving arms
lady moon would weave my hair plaits
isolated i was from all my people
if my love makes me strong and makes you... disappear
that was once what helped your mother, and her mother long before that

Oh wait, the phone's back up.

Okay, so I lied. I read LJ. But I'm getting into bed with my book now.

I just want to note for the record that I absolutely, positively adore Patty, with whom I volunteer on Wednesday nights. She has been such a great support to me (and to Jen!) and a wonderful friend. The world is a much better place with people like Patty in it.

p.s. Happy birthday, [livejournal.com profile] jwine!
