We've had a mostly lovely weekend, and it's really nice to know that we really CAN spend four days together without killing each other. I wasn't exactly sure because we never get more than one day off together in a row, what with Jen always working on weekends and such. So just having her around has really been quite lovely. Quite.
Aside from getting into town three hours later than we were supposed to, this weekend has been very nice. There have been lots of wonderful people to see, including Hope and Megan, Patti and Scott, Carina and Scott and the twins, Brandie and Jason, Sean Rules, Coworker Sarah, Peas, Steve, Joe, Sarah, Reba, and more! We also got to meet Patti's fantastic neighbors. Also, we have eaten lots of yummy and fattening food.
Patti has a scale that is really inconsistent in its weighing, either that or it's really sensitive to changes in the floor. I had one weight on Friday night, weighed three pounds less on Saturday morning, and weighed ten pounds more on Saturday night. Pure craziness!
So far I've attempted many enjoyable feats, including reading Patti's niece's teen magazines. My goodness, I can eat that stuff up like candy. I keep making Patti take quizzes like, "Are you ready for a summer romance?" We made the mistake of going to Waffle House for breakfast yesterday, which was deliciously greasy but did little to reassure me that Columbus has a shortage of rednecks. Oops.
Patti, Scott, and others were really great and threw us a party last night, complete with a cake that they really tried hard to get us to feed each other. Unfortunately I'm a pretty big party pooper in the wedding department and they were duly thwarted. Sorry, guys.
I don't really want to go back to work, but it will be nice to see our home and our cats again. I wonder what Daedalus is doing right now.
