Work anniversary
Jul. 20th, 2005 09:04 amYesterday was my one-year anniversary at work. Can you believe that I have /never/ had a work anniversary since I got my MSW?
My first job (the homeless shelter) lasted 11 months. I was hired at the end of July and all of the social workers were laid off at the end of the fiscal year (June 30). This was an administrative decision, supposedly related to function and funding. But really, the ED said that we social workers were "enabling the homeless."
I spent about three blissful months on unemployment on the shelter's dime, and got my child welfare job that September. I left at the end of May to move to Boston.
And here I am. My first work anniversary since 1999. Wacky.
(And on that note, I need to go to work.)
