Hopelessly Screwed Girl
Jul. 5th, 2006 06:49 pmMy doctor's office is seriously getting on my nerves. I think they are intentionally trying to mess with me. I called the real secretary (not the covering secretary from Monday) and left a message on her voicemail saying that I wasn't sure if I was supposed to call her or not, but that the covering secretary on Monday told me that the imaging center was all booked for HSGs this month and I wanted to know if there was a place I could be fit in. I didn't receive a call back.
Then at around noontime when I was walking out of a home visit, I received a call from another office confirming my HSG for tomorrow at 12:30pm. I was like, "Umm, I don't have an HSG tomorrow afternoon," and the receptionist-person assured me that I did, that the appointment was made at 11:00 this morning. AND NO ONE TOLD ME. So I called the secretary back and told her that I found all of this very confusing and that I have been getting mixed messages for several days and I was quite upset. She was very snooty to me and told me that she "clearly explained everything I was confused about" and she "couldn't understand why I was upset since I was going to have my HSG this month." I was like, "Look, lady, I just got a phone call confirming an appointment I didn't even make, and it's for /tomorrow/." And she said, "Actually, I have to wait until later this afternoon to actually confirm with the imaging center because their computers are down," to which I replied, "Please call me before 4:00pm because I need someone to cover my classroom tomorrow," when what I really wanted to say was, "Are you fecking KIDDING me, lady? And you WONDER why I am upset?"
I swear to Maude, this whole HSG thing has become the world's biggest clusterf*ck. So now I had to scramble to find some last-minute coverage for the end of my playgroup and I need to cancel MORE home visits, and Jen had to work out some sort of last-minute deal with her boss so that she could take some time off to meet me there. The secretary scoffed at me when I said I was concerned that I didn't have someone to come with me and she was snarky about how they "never say that you need to have someone with you" even though almost everyone I know who has had one has said, "Have someone with you so you don't have to try to drive home right after."
I am starting to majorly hate my doctor's office.
