I love you, let's go!
Jun. 11th, 2002 08:43 pmYou're so wonderfully, wonderfully, wonderfully, wonderfully pretty!
I found out from
sudrin that
dianamarie was having a bit of a bad day, and was stuck in her hotel room with no way to escape and a desperate craving for anything that wasn't room service, so I drove up to Dublin (Ohio for those keeping score) and chauffeured her to Pizzaria Uno so she could get some food. We ended up sharing a piece of Oreo cheesecake after her meal, and then went back to the hotel to chill out until my awaited phone call.
Ryan (who is still the best boyfriend in the world for anyone who cares about such things) called and we met at Buca de Beppo in Worthington for our "Let's Get Married!" celebration. I brought a rose from Diana's room and presented it to him, and he promptly stowed it in the back seat of his car. We then proceeded to get thoroughly stuffed on salad, s'ghetti, and the largest bowl of tiramisu I've ever seen. SO. STUFFED.
He is such a great guy that he "showed me Mama's little piggy" with his tiramisu. The only other person who would do that for me in a restaurant is Baga. Yay! I less than three Ryan. He is the bestest boy in the whole wide world. Neither of us is particularly adept at making a food decision, though, so that was interesting.
I think I need to go for a walk this evening (when it cools off some more) to burn off some of today's desserts. I wish it would rain. And if it did, I wish someone was here to jump in puddles with me. I also need to watch another movie tonight, because they have to be watched by Thursday. I suppose if I had to I could return them late and get Megan to take my fees away, but I'm too honest for that.
p.s. Can anyone pick me up at the airport on Sunday night/Monday morning at 1am? I conned A. into giving me a ride there early Friday morning so I don't have to park in the lot. Pretty please? I'll buy you a milkshake.
That man had a really big sausage.
You know that I'd do anything for you.

Date: 2002-06-11 06:01 pm (UTC)I'm now working tomorrow instead of Thursday for my last day, because Coworker Velma's last day is tomorrow and I didn't want to miss her, so we're goodbye-ing together. However, I don't anticipate staying terribly long.
We could do it (maybe) tomorrow or definitely Thursday, if you're interested. *bats eyelashes*
Re: Off topic
But if you work tomorrow, we could just as easily do it on Thursday.
(Hint: You don't have to *bat eyelashes* nearly as frantically if you take me to fetch Smurfette from the mechanic's place in Grandview on Weds or Thurs! ;-)

Date: 2002-06-11 08:59 pm (UTC)Seriously. I hang on to the hope that heaven is at least one step better than the best thing there is on earth. At the moment, Buca di Beppo is my benchmark. Man, I'm REALLY looking forward to heaven.
(Hell, consequently, must be at least one step worse than the worst thing on earth, which, in my opinion, is fresh beets.)

Date: 2002-06-12 07:04 am (UTC)They took Ryan and I on such a serpentine trail through the restaurant that we were worried we wouldn't find our way out. But the tiramisu was to DIE for!
Re:
Date: 2002-06-12 07:50 am (UTC)Yeah, the corridors seemed pretty tight, and the men's room was full of pictures of naked little boys, but the food was indeed...divine.

Date: 2002-06-12 08:28 pm (UTC)But I remember my surprise when I learned that The Melting Pot was a chain. (And what a wonderful chain it is.)
My favorite piece of art was the photo of a man with this enormous sausage. "Wow, Ryan, that man has a HUGE sausage!" "Yeah, Jude, I can count the number of people who have said that to me."
