And here it is. Saturday. After waking up late (for me - around 10:30am) (note to self - make sure 'stina shuts off that 5am alarm!),
kungfoogirl and I headed to Marietta to catch lunch with
awl. I didn't want to eat anywhere that I could eat at home, and I particularly wanted somethign Southern, so we went to this restaurant called Folks. I proceeded to have a lovely mix of chicken fried chicken, macaroni and cheese, red beans and rice, a biscuit, and sweet tea. Mmmm. We headed back to Allen's, where the Big StudTM managed to score two girls in his bed at one time. HOTT. I introduced them to
geocaching. We found the easy cache, but stopped halfway through the more difficult multi cache, because none of us was really dressed for steep slopes of soft ground and the tree cover made the e-trex cranky. Still, I think I hooked them both onto a new hobby. In the process, 'stina acquired some Play Doh and I took a pair of bright orange swimming goggles in honor of
pattisimmons.
happy2beso should have touched down here by now. I don't know if we're seeing her tonight, but I think we're having brunch tomorrow. YAY! Tonight, I do believe the plan (Stan) is to hit My Sister's Room to mack on grrlies.
Soul Food. Allen. Geocaching. Fairly good hiking workout (in the new Jesus jogger sandals, even - not quite hiking shoes). A quart of Powerade. Back at the ranch with 'stina and kayt. All told, a very successful vacation.
Get out the map, get out the map and lay your finger anywhere down. We'll leave the figuring to those we pass on the way out of town.

Date: 2002-06-15 05:47 pm (UTC)The Otherside got turned into a boy bar, and that made me quite sad. And since Atlanta has a fair number of boy bars, it didn't do so well. It got closed down fairly quickly afterwards.
Tower II and My Sister's Room are about all we've got.
But MSR is pretty fun.

Date: 2002-06-15 05:51 pm (UTC)OMG, how could they do that to The Otherside? That's not cool. There were way too many boy bars. I think My Sister's Room was closed or something for a while when I was there? I don't know Tower II.

Date: 2002-06-15 06:15 pm (UTC)Um, yeah. I was really sad about The Otherside. It was always packed, always fun. And it was safe. Not in a scary neighborhood, and the girls were all nice.
My Sister's Room is very nice too. A little clique-y. But nice. It's taken over as the main place to hang out.
Tower II is not really my kinda joint.
