Wow. Tonight, for the first time in over two weeks, I will not have a houseguest. How quiet and empty my house will seem! But I suppose it will be good for me.

I've really enjoyed having [livejournal.com profile] rizzo41 here in Columbus. On Friday night, I dragged her to Bucky and Adam's place for a little housewarming party, and we stayed there until about 3am just talking and drinking a little bit. I knew that she would really like Bucky - he's hard not to like, and they have a lot of common interests. She got introduced to Bucky's love of Phyllis Dyller and The Kids of Widney High. It was a costume party, but we didn't dress up. Bucky was Mr. Burns and Adam was Edith Bunker. Two of Adam's coworkers were Peg and Kelly Bundy. As Adam got progressively drunker, he became more unmanageable and I felt bad for Bucky. Adam was becoming belligerent and I got tired of him making references to my sexuality and my genitalia. Bleh.

On Saturday, Jode and I slept in and then watched Donnie Darko. Later we ate at the Drexel and met with Steve for One Hour Photo which got bad reviews but I liked. Robin Williams was stunning in it, as usual. When we got home, we chilled out some. Eventually we ordered chinese takeout and invited [livejournal.com profile] badadam and [livejournal.com profile] wasted_breath over to watch Grosse Point Blank which Jennifer brought me when she came. I think I passed out around 1am because I'm old.

On Sunday, Jodie went to lunch with A. and went back to his place for a bit while I did laundry and caught up with Jennifer on the phone. We went for a quick dinner at Don Pablo's and then headed to Midgard Comics to see The Reacharounds (click on 'pics' for pictures!). None of the other bands showed, so it was like a private party, which was neat except there was no alcohol. Poo. We took goofy pictures and then Jode and I headed back and played board games and watched Shadow of the Vampire because Willem Dafoe cracks us up. ("I don't think we need the ship.")

I went to work yesterday and returned to a dinner experience so marvelous that if I didn't know better, I'd have sworn she was trying to get with me. There were fresh flowers on my coffee table. She had made a multi-course meal consisting of cheese and fruit, salad, bread and oil, pasta with broccoli and chicken, and chocolate cake with strawberries. We drank screw-top wine until we were giggly and then tried to play Trivial Pursuit. My gods, but we're stupid.

Me: What occupation has the appropriate anagram "moon starer"?
Jodie: Proctologist?

Jodie: What was Abraham Lincoln appalled that his son was waving...?
Me: His underwear?

We are so dumb! But I laughed harder than I've laughed in years, until we were both coughing and in pain and unable to look at each other, and it was like being at Hofstra all over again. We went to bed and I fell asleep around 3, and had to get up at 8 to get ready to take her to the airport. I just had some nummy Cherry Coke, so I'm pretty good. Yeah!

So it was a lot of fun, and I'm saving this for posterity. I'll miss her. I already do. I wish she lived next door, because she's one of the best friends I've ever had in my whole life, and I hope I grow old being able to laugh and be stupid with her.

Dinner date with the rockstar boyfriend tonight. Score!

Whoa, you're looking for something for me? Something in particular? Or just something to be like, I'll do anything for you cause you rock, here's a sacrificial offering..? ;-)

Something specific, actually. :)

You'll know if I succeed. I'd like to make it by your birthday, but I might be late. Forgive.

Alright. Now I'm really curious. Of course I'll forgive, you dork. You don't have to send a gift in the first place.

Not that I mind receiving one. =)

If I /had/ to send something, it wouldn't be nearly as fun. :)

Yay!
