I just wanted to see if you noticed that the site you got the sweatshirts from went up from 10 to 20 a piece... I'm glad I got it when I did... yay again
My mom loves Schmidt's too! We tried going there once when my parents were in Columbus while I was in grad school. We drove around German Village a bit (my mom didn't remember exactly where it was, and I'd never been there) til my dad decided he was too hungry to search for it, and we went to the Claremont instead. Someday I will get to Schmidt's though. I hear that the cream puffs are to die for.
It's at the very eastern end of Kossuth Street in German Village. You go down High Street or Third Street until you hit the intersection with Kossuth, and then you hang a left and go until you get to the sausages!
I'm not a big fan of cream puffs, but the cream inside is heavenly, and tastes like pudding pops. The chocolate cream pie is also amazing!
Yeah, I found out where it was during my last four months or so in Columbus, but at that point I was too cash-poor to be able to afford it on my own, and so I never got to go. :(
That's so sad! I'm very fortunate... I don't think I've ever paid to eat there. I'm very spoiled by the people in my life, especially my sugar daddies. ;)
You're so lucky! I've never had that. Even when I had weekly breakfast meetings at the Claremont for the campaign that I worked on in 1997, I had to pay for my food. And as I said, I was scraping by at that time. If not for being able to ride the COTA buses for free, I'd have really been in trouble!
I think it's sad that every student can ride COTA for free and most don't, but there are tons of people with very low (or no) incomes who could really benefit from a permanent bus pass. I think when I leave Columbus I'll give my Buck-ID to a homeless person.
At the time, I didn't have a driver's license, and for the $9/quarter, COTA was a major bargain. I used to go out to Northland Mall, down to City Center, Lennox Place and just about anywhere I could on the COTA because of that. I loved it.
But then, I'm a Green, so it won't only follow that I'd make use of the buses as much as I could.
That's odd. I know that when I was there, alot of students would use the route over to Lennox Place and then the one down to German Village was very popular on the weekends. But I'll admit that alot of students are too pampered and too connected to their cars. I guess I may have been had I had a license at the time. *shrugs*
