Subject: Please don't vote.

Dear friend,

On behalf of Shell, Mobil, and Exxon; Boeing, Lockheed-Martin, and GE; all the Enrons, Halliburtons, and Harkens; President Bush, Vice President Cheney, Donald Rumsfeld, and the other CEOs of the Cabinet; and thousands of us who are working for a better life for the wealthiest Americans, we have one simple request: Could you please just stay home tomorrow?

See, we have things to do. Nations to invade. Wetlands to destroy. Oil to drill. Courts to pack. Corporate taxes to cut.

What's frustrating for us is that we're coming up against some pretty stiff resistance. We've spent hundreds of millions of dollars to secure the Senate, but it looks like we just may lose it. Heck, we may even lose the House. We don't quite get what it is about our agenda that you people don't like, but it's clear that this time, you may be upset enough to actually do something about it.

That's why we're writing this message to you today. Please don't vote. Ask your friends not to vote. What could the harm be in sitting this round out? If you could just stay home on Election Day, we can get back to the important business of running the nation for you, and we won't have to bother you again.

Thank you,
The Executive Committee Against Uppity Citizens

Deadly serious. Voting is serious business.

You know, I just realized I didn't get one of those voter cards in the mail this year. Can I vote without one, do you think?

If you're currently registered to vote, I think you pretty much have to be allowed to vote (at your precinct) if you have a driver's license and like a utility or cable bill, to verify residency. You should be able to find your polling place online, at (I'm now curious...) a ha . if you don't know it.

No its not. Not this time, at least.
The Republicrats have this current system locked down and sold off to each other long ago.

The only real hope for change in the future comes from the Libertarian party, and that's assuming it doesnt get co-opted along the way. And that won't happen this election cycle.

You should chat with [livejournal.com profile] dch4. You can chat your Libertarian Neil Boortz blahblah all night and day!

I've actually never heard Boortz. I just know that my friend really likes him. And that my friend and I don't share political views. :)

He's an entertainer. Humourous, abrasive, informative... just don't take him too seriously.

He's actually on my radio right now :) You should listen, at least for a little while before you make up your mind about him.

Never one to not take my own advice.. I'll be seeing bowling for columbine shortly... despite thinking michael moore is a fat, fat idiot with nary a clever nor original thing to say.

Alas, I don't have a radio at work. :( (And my computer at work doesn't have speakers - they really don't want me to have any fun at all!)

Contrary to popular belief, I /do/ have a sense of humor. I just don't usually find oppression funny.
