It seems like now that I don't post so much, I haven't really posted about all of the fun things I've done. I remember when I wasn't working this summer and I had time to post myself into a frenzy about all of the goofy things I did.

Last night I left work early because I wasn't feeling well and I stayed in. I thought about going to the Transgender Rememberance Day rally at Goodale Park, but I just wasn't feeling up to it. A cute girl came over and we ate my leftover chinese food and watched Jacob's Ladder. That was really interesting - I can't believe I hadn't seen it before. The night before, I was feeling poorly but wanted to be social, so after work, Jennifer and I went to Vic's (so I could eat yummy mac n cheese). We met up with [livejournal.com profile] pattisimmons, [livejournal.com profile] lemur68 and [livejournal.com profile] 356dreamer to play board games and read. Emmy, I'm really getting into Their Eyes Were Waching God. I'm feeling more and more at home at Vic's - it's nice. On Sunday, I went to [livejournal.com profile] 356dreamer's housewarming party, which was fun even though I wasn't feeling well. We watched Lola Rennt for probably my millionth time - mmm, Franka Potente. On Saturday, Jen and I went to Schmidt's with [livejournal.com profile] doulamel and later went to [livejournal.com profile] pattisimmons's house to drink cocoa and play games. On Friday night, I took my best girl to see Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets because she is a Harry Potter addict. On last Thursday's Date Night, [livejournal.com profile] whod81 (best. boyfriend. ever.) and I went to The Dube, and afterwards I went to Vic's and listened to open mic and read with [livejournal.com profile] laughingsal, Andy, and Jennifer. In all of this time, I've been getting to know my coworker [livejournal.com profile] vorpalbla a little bit at a time, and I like it.

My Jennifer and I haven't spent much hard-core time apart since she moved here, and I can't say I mind. She's insidiously becoming my most comfortable pair of pajamas. Right now, I'm not afraid of love anymore. We casually make hypothetical future plans. Don't tell anyone ~ you'll ruin my rep.

I've had to go into work early 3 times this week - 8:00 on Tuesday (instead of 10:00), 9:30 this morning (instead of 10:00), and 7:30 tomorrow morning (instead of 9:00). I can't believe I have to get up when it's dark tomorrow. UGH.

I have to buy my airline tickets for Christmas with the parentals. I have to finish eating this burrito so I can go do open hours downtown. I have to blow my nose. I want to say hello to new friends: [livejournal.com profile] lemur68 and [livejournal.com profile] loudprincess. I've enjoyed the times we've spent together. I still love my old friends. I miss my best friend.

I'm through babbling for now. How have you all been?

'Their Eyes Were Watching God' is a very very good book. I loved it bunches.

But since it's written in the vernacular, it took me a bit to get into it. But once I did, I really liked it. Very moving.

Glad things are well.

One of the things I love about it is precisely that it's written in dialect. It made me instantly think of The Color Purple which I love love love love.

Oh! Me too, me too!

It just took a bit to get used to.

It wouldn't feel quite as real and moving if it wasn't.

I'm glad you like it, though.

Yay for really good reading.

Now if we could just get the 5th Harry Potter book....

Speaking of the Princess, we need to find a time to hang out that is agreeable to her go-getting schedule too....

I have so many books in my reading queue, though: Gender Outlaw, About a Boy, High Fidelity, Memoirs of a Geisha... and Jen has this book about lesbian nuns that I'm dying to read.

:)

I agree too...I talked to her via email yesterday or the day before...and twisted her arm got a promise to hang out soon. She has my phone number and stuff now. Crazy.

Sure, sure. You claim to be posting a recap of your last few days, but what you're really doing is saying, "Hey, look at me! All of the people I hang out with have Live Journals!"

You don't fool me. :-)

[and congratulations on that love thing. you deserve it!]

I remember our phone conversation.

You're just /jealous/. Admit it. You hang out with non-livejournal-people and you covet my LJ Rock Star status.

You should come to Columbus. I'll throw you a livejournal party. Then you can name-drop when you go back to BG and be cooler than me! :)

It /is/ true, though, that most of the people I hang out with here in town have LiveJournals. It's how I met some of the best of 'em!

[thank you, madame zuzu]

I read both High Fidelity and About a Boy recently - they're both good, but High Fidelity is really spoilt if you see the film beforehand - it's still good, but eerily familiar, because a lot of the dialogue is taken straight from the book.

A bit like "The Talented Mr. Ripley", if you've ever read that. "Alfie", too.
