Well holy hot damn, it's about 60 degrees outside! I went for a little walk down Buttles, past the teeny little St. Francis Church, to Harrison West, and stopped by Jen's on the way back. (She has strep, and she's missing the glorious weather. Sucktastic.) I made her some soup, gave her hugs, and did her dishes. Now I'm getting ready to go to COSI with Carina and Tyler. Yay!

It's weird to have had so much snow here that we have that whole mud thing going on. Everything feels so Northeast to me. Mud. Yucko! Mud is only fun in the summer if it's a big mud puddle you can splash in because it's really warm and was left by a flash thunderstorm. This kind of mud is dark and thick and viscous and cold. Ew.

My lip is all unswollen now. Hooray! I can play with it now, and I'm desperately trying not to so it can get super-all-better. Next weekend, I think I'll get a smaller barbell because this one is starting to stick out. I want it to hug my lip really closely. And now that it's not swollen, you can really tell that it's a little off center. Phooey. Aah well - I'll say it builds character!

On the downside, I had some extra money last month and I used it to buy some new clothes. And today I realized why I had extra money: I never received a student loan bill last month, so I didn't pay my student loan. Bleh. I just sent them double. Thank goodness for State Tax Refund. (This means the money from the Feds should be coming soon, which means, "Helloooooooo, Digital Elph!") I don't usually buy large purchases for myself, so this is a Big DealTM.

Wow, I'm boring.

Hey, that Digita Elph freakin ROCKS! It's what my dad's got (there's one on my Amazon wishlist, if you get a LOT of money back from the Feds...). I want me one. Super pocket sized and packed with power, baby!

You might also consider getting THIS for the woman you love... *evil grin*

Laurel spent a fair part of the afternoon jumping in the puddles in our backyard and driveway while I raked the yard and Robert poked around the ditch separating our yard from the woods.

We finally stopped her when she stuck her face in one of the puddles! A serious shower and running her clothes through two wash cycles later, she's a (mostly) clean little cherub now. I'll have to post a "before" picture to my LJ so you can marvel at just how muddy she got.

(Side note on the ditch: it's a foot deep right now, but looks like high water's around three feet. This is the first time since September I can remember any water in it, but the trash in there... yech! Last fall, Robert pulled everything out except for an in-ground pool ladder we couldn't get out. Today we pulled out a bunch of stuff that wasn't there in the fall: an inflatable kiddie pool, a ripped-up tarp, two coolers, a tire, several drink bottles, small balls and dog toys, and a piece of metal roofing. The ladder finally corroded enough for us to get it out, too.)

Nah. Every couple of months, in cycle, I think about removing my tongue piercing. Right now, I'm in a "remove" cycle, so upgauging isn't a high priority. :)

I have to say, I love muddy kids.

Especially when they're somebody else's. ;)
