Jennifer and I are thinking of going away for the weekend (just Saturday into Sunday) and doing a bunch of geocaching. I'm trying to think of where to go. We've talked about the Hocking Hills. I'm also kind of interested in going to Cleveland (dinner [livejournal.com profile] baab? [livejournal.com profile] galbraith?) since there are a lot of caches there. And then there's the fascination with going to Indiana or Kentucky or West Virginia instead. I've never been to Kentucky, and I've only driven through Indiana.

I am so exhausted. I finally fell asleep around 3AM and kept waking up, and then I was up at 6:30 for good since it was so light out. I can't wait until Sunday when we set the clocks ahead and it stays dark until a remotely reasonable time again. Blarg. But I'm appreciative of the warm weather and the sunshine, don't get me wrong.

I see that [livejournal.com profile] iota and [livejournal.com profile] jezebella put a cache up. I should go find that one soon - I'd kind of want to be the first one. (I'm such a nerd.) I should put another cache up somewhere close to downtown. I wish I knew where I wanted to go this weekend so I could plan or something. I'm thinking of putting the Hocking Hills off until a later date when we can take a whole weekend and rent one of those mushygushylovelove cabins in the woods or something. Hee.

Maybe I'll email the Cleveland peeps and see if anything is going on.

Yeah, isn't it supposed to (maybe) rain this weekend? That would suck eggs.

See you Friday! And thank you for calling me last night. I know it's not really your thing, to call, but I totally appreciate it!

hee hee, thanks for the thanks! that just seems so formal.

Hey, it was a QaF emergency, email just wouldn't do! And I totally wouldn't have called if a) I didnt know you watched QaF just the other day and b) we hadn't gone to Flag Wars. It becomes easier once you've actually talked to the person in real life before :)

Maybe.

I'll have to check with Mrs. Me to see what our weekend plans are, but I'm not aware of anything other than some stuff on Saturday afternoon. Still, it wouldn't be the first time I was supposed to go somewhere/do something and forgot about it.

As of right now, though, it looks like we'd be able to get together for lunch/dinner or something.

Sweet.

The Girl is still deciding if she wants to go anywhere this weekend, so I will totally keep you posted. [livejournal.com profile] baab has big plans, so we may make it a better weekend, with more advanced planning.

HA, advanced planning. Who am I kidding?

If you do go in that direction, see if there are any caches around Earlham College in Richmond. It's on 70 just inside Indiana, and it's a nice little campus. Although it's a liberal arts school, I'm sure there are one or two GPS geeks there who have hidden some stuff.

A really boring place called Moorehead. My mom was teaching at the university there. (And they almost fired her for being pregnant, even though she was married, because students shouldn't see pregnant women -- in 1974!!)

Have I ever mentioned that I'm an idiot?

"Oh, no," says I. "I have no weekend plans. My schedule is clear!"

Thpt. Right. Class first thing Saturday morning, then a money management seminar, then visiting friends at their new house, then book club in the evening. Nope. Nothing going on with me at all.

After a conversation with Laura, Saturday suddenly looks rather booked. Sunday, though, is pretty clear. Really. I swear.

Ha ha ha! You're awesome.

We'll probably do Cleveland another time, when both you and Blob can rampage with us. It just wouldn't be the same. And this time, we'll set something up in advance. Or something.

Hee! Enjoy your weekend!

Well she got to keep her job but since I was born right at the beginning of the semester (19th Sept when school started after labour day then) she only got 3 weeks off -- including the two days she was in labour and the 5 days they kept you in the hospital back then after giving birth. So basically she was told to be back at work within two weeks after getting out of the hospital or lose her job for real!

Absolute jerks. She taught *home ec* at *university level*, like her students weren't just there to get husbands and go off and have babies themselves??

But after me she was told that having another kid could kill her so she never had to worry about maternity leave again...

I still can't believe it since my grandmother was allow to work through all three of her pregnancies, and she taught elementary school in the forties! When I was born, Roe v Wade had already been decided, you'd think Kentucky would have a clue that university students knew where babies came from :P
