Rainy Days and Mondays
Apr. 7th, 2003 11:24 amMy hair is currently what Jen has termed 'artfully mussed.' I guess that makes me trendy. What's not trendy is that I'm wearing clothes I don't really like. I hate these pants. I need to do laundry. I guess I have a couple other pairs of pants I could wear, too, but I'm saving those in case I don't do laundry tonight. At this rate, I should be okay until Thursday.
You ever have a song that you /loved/ as a child or young adult, and now you listen to it and you have no idea what you were so enamored with? I'm listening to one right now. "Desert Moon" by Dennis DeYoung. I remember being quite young and absolutely loving this song, thinking it was one of the most beautiful songs ever. Listening to it now kind of reminds me of last nights episode of The Sopranos. I can still picture the video in my head, though. I remember seeing Dennis DeYoung in Jesus Christ, Superstar with
zelazny ages and ages ago. I liked his performance in that, though. He was a good Pilate, and he did "Pilate's Dream" well. the haunted, hunted kind...
It's raining. They say, "Rainy days and Mondays always get me down." Personally, I think it should rain every Monday. If it was sunny and warm, I wouldn't want to go to work. I would want to stay home and ride my bike and go hiking and geocaching. But it's nasty out, so I might as well go to work. And since it /is/ raining, maybe people will keep my appointments. We shall see!
I am totally babbling about nothing. I guess that's what happens in the last few minutes before I have to go to work. When I get out of work tonight, it will just be getting dark, instead of pitch black. That will be a nice change. Maybe it will motivate me to pack up my crap and go to the laundromat.
I haven't felt much like a knight lately. I need to work on that. Maybe she's just looking for someone to dance with.

somewhere, on the other side
of this massive rock we call home,
somewhere, someone's wall has crumbled
someone's windows shattered
someone's nightmare began
someone's family ruptured
someone's life ended
and here, in my solid living room
on my sturdy recliner
in my complete universe
all I see are
little green flashes
