I received only two pieces of mail today:

  1. a lesbian movie from Netflix

  2. an Easter card from my grandparents

Even better, there was $20 in the card. Which I will use in the process of wooing my hot girlfriend all weekend long!

Note to self: Stop the mushy love-love stuff long enough to call Grandma to say thank you on Sunday.

Watermelon Woman is a good flick, feels a lot like Go Fish but the history aspect is great.

Enjoy your tender-squishy weekend! lol...

(Don't think this was directed at me but...) I did :) I got a kick out of it. Reminded me of the "Loved One OUT" program from the 80s.

Own it.

It's actually one of my favorite movies (aside from being one of my favorite lesbian movies) - the campiness, the use of color, Mink Stole - DEFINITELY a must-see. :)

I dragged my then-husband to the Drexel to watch it with me for the first time. ;)

I didn't like Go Fish all that much. I liked the idea of the movie, and I liked the style of the movie, but the acting was terrible. It was as if the Director said, "Okay, give me your blandest performances. And.... action!"

I plan to watch Watermelon Woman soon. :)

I am not familiar with this program. Share?

lol re: Go Fish. I think the director *did* do that; she shot the film incredibly low budget and used her friends. The dialog is painful at best, but I am a sucker for a film that encorporates poetry. I liked Max's journal poetry a lot and (deep dark secret) it was the first dyke culture film I ever saw. You know how loyal we lesbians are to our firsts....

Okay, apparently it's "Love Won Out," my bad, and instead of just being something a few churches did, it's a whole damn campainge now, started in 1999.

I could sum it up, but this link is great:

Who knew my combat boots made me gay?

Wow. And to think, /I/ react poorly to badly-dressed women, too!

HA! This made me laugh out loud. :)

My first lesbian film was, I think, The Incredibly True Adventures of Two Girls in Love.
