If its something you can pass on to others, yes.

You realize we're all horrible influences on you, right?

You owe it to them (and YOURSELF!) to rest and get back into fighting condition instead of just languishing through the next week or so.

Well... yes and no. There is another case manager in the building, yes. But she can't take my appointments. And Monday is the night I have evening hours (she doesn't).

I ment the sickness itself.

Give yourself the time you need to recover fully. If you don't take the time to take care of yourself, you won't have the resources to listen to and care for your clients.

Speaking from experience, I second this notion.

Better nip it in the bud before you get REALLY sick. :-P

Bad.

This is my first called-off day since 08-21-02.

Ha! You know as well as I do that it's easier to say than do. :)

I guess. I just feel so guilty. In the three minutes I was on the phone with Jen, I said all of the following things:

"I don't feel /that/ bad."
"But I walked all day yesterday, so I can't call out."
"I'm alright until I start talking."
"But I have evening hours tonight."

I have issues.

very true. So I'll look after you and you can look after me :)

I think you're right. My one concern is that talking all day (which is kinda my job) will make everything worse. So this way, I'll go tomorrow.

I'll have to reschedule everyone. UGH.

I think I'm on the tail end of getting better, actually. I was pretty sick all weekend. Usually I'm dying to go out, anywhere... but this weekend, I broke all of my night plans (Wall Street on Friday, bachelorette party on Saturday), /and/ skipped out on the art museum, so I must really be ill.

Talking is the primary thing that I do in my job. I use verbal communication on the phone and to coordinate all the things that I do around the office. It SUCKS when I get laryngitis. I have to take time off work when I lose my voice, because I'm essentially useless in my position without it. Saving your voice the strain and getting some rest today will probably make a world of difference for you.

Bummer about the rescheduling, but I'm sure that your clients will enjoy seeing shiny, happy, healthy Jude as opposed to sick, fatigued, laryngitis-y Jude -- and you'll be feelin' a lot better to boot. Yay!

lol no worries.

Its simple. If its something you can pass on to others at work. . . don't go in.

Esp with your job.

Aww well it's good to hear you are improving though. :-) Maybe one more day off will completely cure you?

... I have never once heard someone say the regretted NOT coming in to work and SHOULDN'T have stayed home and they feel so much worse.

In fact, it used to piss me off when my employees would come in sick. They were miserable, nonproductive and would often be so unhappy it would cost us manpower, money, time and sanity. I loved my employees too much to see them suffer to spite the theory of "work".

I hope you feel better!
