1. if you could change one thing about yourself, what would that be?
I'd like to have more follow-through. I'm the person with the great ideas, who starts out with a big bang and ends with a little fizzle, never to spark again. I can't even tell you how many projects or hobbies or activities I've tried, only to let the interest dissipate within weeks. The reason I bought the cheapest bike at Target is because I know how I am. After all, I haven't ridden the thing in 2 weeks. When I'm working, I have to go and go and go until I'm done. Or I'll never finish.

2. who have been the five most influential people in your life and why?
Cheater. That's 5 questions. ;) In no particular order:
1. My grandparents - as a collective, because they raised me and took care of me.
2. Mrs. Geraldine Ferry - my 9th & 12th grade biology teacher, because she filled me with a love of life.
3. Aaron - my exhusband, because you can't spend 6 of your most formative years with someone and have them not be influential.
4. Jodie - my former roommate, because she has taught me what friendship really is.
5. Lao Tzu - because he wrote the Tao Te Ching

3. what are three events that happened in your life that shaped your belief system in one way or another?
Catholic school, because it taught me to seriously study spiritual things, and that "seriously study" means question everything. An evening in early summer when I was 17, when I spread myself out on the ground in the shape of a 5-pointed star under the full moon, and felt completely and cosmically connected to everything. Unsuccessfully trying to commit suicide when I was 8.

4. what is your favorite song and why?
Wow. I love so many songs. Even if I come up with one, I will think of 486375464856 others that I love, too. Hrm. One song that I feel in every cell in my body, that fills me with so much emotion every time I've heard it (and has done so for at least 10 years) is "Variations on the Canon in D" by George Winston. I /love/ Pachelbel's Canon, and I /love/ George Winston, and they are two great tastes that taste great together!

5. what is your favorite material posession?
Toss-up. It's either my futon, because I bought it when A. and I broke up and it is a (comfortable) symbol of my independence and strength, or it's the "smurf in shining armor" that Jennifer made me out of Sculpey for Christmas 2001 when she was trying to woo me.
