Black Tuesday
Aug. 21st, 2001 04:12 pmI am as of yet unscathed.
There are no tears.
There is no heavy heart.
I am a scholar of life and this is a learning experience.

TWO OF ME, TWO OF YOU - Jackson Browne
There are two of me
And two of you
Two who have betrayed love
And two who have been true
And together we went crashing through
Every bond and vow and faith we knew
Me and the fool I've been
And the two of you
Of the two of me
One always knew
That I would always love you
Whatever you might do
And the more unfree and troubled you grew
I could feel the whole world splitting in two
Trying to make the room
For the two of you
So like a fragile little child
More than a little lost and wild
How the light would leave the sky when you cried
And returned again when you smiled
And how the light would invade and divide
The darkness I have inside
There were two of me
And two of you
Searching for a passageway
Hidden from our view
And together we went crashing through
Every bond and vow and faith we knew
Me and the fool I've been
And the two of you
There are no tears.
There is no heavy heart.
I am a scholar of life and this is a learning experience.

Date: 2010-02-02 01:20 pm (UTC)a) because this post is from 10 years ago
b) because we don't know each other now and possibly never will
that being said. I think I found you through a friends page of a friend's livejournal and I became attached to your posts. I often read about your life now, with your family and your life. and sometimes when I think people are really interesting I like to start from the beginning of their "live journal" lives so that I can know even more about these people that I might never meet.
forgive me if this seems odd. I have a lot of time on my hands lately and have enjoyed your writing very much.
also: it makes my heart happy that you have quoted jackson browne twice, as he is my favorite artist. even if it makes my heart sad that the quotes were when you were going through such a rough time. at least I know that in the end you are unbelievably happy.
again, sorry if this is creeptacular.
sincerely,
kristen

Date: 2010-02-10 03:10 am (UTC)I was, however, thinking of good old Jackson the other day when I told my daughter that we had to go to the doctor because she had a problem with her eyes (it was pinkeye), and since we go to a rather large pediatric practice, we don't always see the same doctor. Anyway, she asked me "Which doctor is going to doctor my eyes?" It was priceless.
A little Jackson Browne goes a long way. I can thank an ex-boyfriend for turning me on to him. I really do like him very much.
Enjoy. :)
