Random "this was my day" post
Oct. 12th, 2003 01:24 amI got up early this morning (9:00am) and puttered around on the computer for a few minutes, until I received a phone call from the woman who owns the B&B we'll be staying at in Niagara Falls in a couple of weeks. (I am so excited! We've never been, and we need to get away, and it's not too far, and it involves Canadian money so we're rich!) After deciding that 9am was too early to giggle over a heavy Canadian accent, I crawled back into bed to bug Jen.
We got up and got ready so that I could go to the BMV and renew my license. (It expires on Friday, which is my birthday, of course.) In the spirit of Murphy and his dumb law, the state BMV system was down, so they couldn't do any licenses. (When the heck am I going to go NOW?) We detoured on the way home so I could show Jen where I work, and then we stopped so she could get a haircut, and we grabbed breakfast at Spinelli's. The food did not agree with me.
We came back and Jen worked on her thesis. I sent evites for our birthday party and then went to Antrim Park to take a walk with
pattisimmons,
scottsimmons, fishersimmons, and milliesimmons. They left and I did a brisker lap, and then came home. I blasted The Magnetic Fields the whole way. A little while later, Jen and I walked to Bucky and Johanna's place, because they were having a cookout. We snacked on their food, took photos in the fruit hat, and headed back home. We bought two scratch tickets, and they both lost. SUCK.
I had plans to see School of Rock with
elspazz0, so I picked her up and we stopped at Cup O' Joe for a snackie, and then hit the movie. (So cute. SO CUTE!) We picked Jen up and took her to Tee Jaye's so she could get some food. We dropped TideHead off and came back home. Here I am tooling around on the internet, and my Jennifer is slaving away at that damned albatross thesis. And I got back in touch with an old LJ friend,
stacy. (Thanks,
zoe_trope!)
I can't believe I used to chronicle my days all the time. How boring! I'm just pleased that I had such a low-stress, but still action-packed, day. And that I got to see lots fun people. And that I finally got those birthday invites out. (If I don't have your email address, email me!) I should be in bed, but I had too much caffeine. WHEEEEEEE! (bleep)

Date: 2003-10-12 05:50 pm (UTC)Sorry - 11's too late for me to see a mooooovie, since I'm a 9-5 working shmoe now. BUT, if you wanted to wait until next weekend to see Kill Bill, I would. (But if you don't want to wait that long, that's cool, too.)

Date: 2003-10-12 06:15 pm (UTC)We're only going to be in Niagara, and we'll only be there from the afternoon of the 25th to the afternoon of the 26th. Sort of a spontaneous getaway.
How far are you from Niagara, and what are you doing Sunday? :)

Date: 2003-10-12 06:26 pm (UTC)As far as I know I'm doing nothing... being laid off and all.
It's not that far a trip... I think it's bus-able if you wanted me to meet you there, or if you're driving in and want to hit the big smoke...
My lj username at strange.com will get to me, as will my first name... and others. :)

Hrm. I shall email you.
