I seriously think I'm going to get kicked out of the Women's Chorus. When we split into sections tonight, I really thought I had a decent handle on "Comin' Into My Years" (well, at least almost as good as the other people). We also glossed over "And Ain't I a Woman?" which I guess everyone learned before I got there. We got back into the whole chorus and got into "Ain't I?" and I was /so/ lost. I still haven't heard the whole piece from start to finish, and I will /never/ get it if I only hear it in four part harmony. And then when we got into "Comin' Into My Years" with all the voices, I lost my part again. *le sigh* I bet that within three weeks, they'll be asking me to pass out programs or something. UGH. (But I got candy from my section leader, yay!)
Tomorrow I get to observe at court, and it's Coworker Sarah vs. Her Arch Nemesis. It should be very interesting. And then I have CORE 101 for the rest of the week. And the beginning of next week I have the last two days of CORE 102. And then I have training on the forms on Wednesday. Busy busy busy. I'll probably have cases by the end of next week. Yikes! (And then I learned that CORE 100 happens to occur on December 1st, so I don't know how that will work if I take that day as a personal day. I wonder if I can make it up?)
You know, I really hope I get the hang of this chorus thing, because I like it a lot and I think it's really awesome. If only I could get it, that is. Maybe they'll hand out practice tapes soon.
