Okay, so today is officially FREE FOOD day in the office. Due to the holiday (and the fact that the courts are closed) and due to audits showing that we're lax on our paperwork, my agency decided that today was Mandatory In-Office Paperwork Day. Basically, this means that they chained us to our desks and won't let us leave, so we can do oodles of paperwork. That's all well and good, but I have only two clients, one of whom just got transferred to me and I haven't even met the family, so I don't exactly have any paperwork to do. And it's grey and dark and rainy, so sitting here is giving me the Supreme Sleepies.

On the plus side, we've been inundated with free food. My agency provided lunch for us (to keep us here, because, you know, we're chained to our desks), but my team leader also brought in doughnuts and cider for breakfast. And on my way to work, my pager went off and it was some of my team members who were at Hellbucks and asking me what I wanted. OODLES OF FREE FOODLES!!

I'm "breaking the law" and leaving the office a little before 4:00, though, so I can do some out-of-the-office stuff that needs to be done today. I'm getting the impression that one of my clients is using me as a passive-aggressive weapon against her husband. La la la.

In other news of randomness, I hope it's just the rainy weather that has my joints, especially my right knee, all fired up and is causing my Sleepies. The last thing I really want/need right now is to be coming down with something. NTS: running out of freddy flintstones.

I discovered today that my employer has not registered me for health insurance even though I was supposed to be covered as of November 1st. Color me irked. This needs to be straightened out soon, though, because my annual exam is coming up. Whee. Time for the mascara wand of dooooooooom!

On deck for the evening: home visit, haircut, dinner with [livejournal.com profile] vorpalbla, laundry. Still cursing the black hearts of the Academy. DIE ACADEMY DIE!!

Last night, we (as a chorus) went over and over and over the ending of "And Ain't I a Woman?" This is all well and good, because we really don't know that song at all, but now it's horribly stuck in my head. And not, you know, the whole song. Nope. Just the same handful of measures we sang over and over and over. ...always, always remember / I have done the best I could / I have told the who-ole truth / I'm going ho-o-O-ome / go-o-i-ing hooooooome Oy. Thank you, Sojourner Truth.
