I seem to be feeling somewhat better for the moment. This means I'm actually able to stay out of bed. It's funny, I laid in bed all morning, and then when Jennifer came back to bed to take a nap, I became wide awake. So I started working on the holiday cards. La la la, I love sending out the cards, but I hate addressing all the envelopes! (Actually, I think I hate writing my address a million times, I wish I had address labels.) I've probably cranked out almost 30, woot woot!

I'm thinking of going downstairs, putting on a movie I've seen a bazillion times, and writing some more. I don't know, though. So far, the only other productive thing I've done is make the bed. At 5pm. Jennifer has forbid me from doing the dishes, but they are sitting in the kitchen sink mocking me. (I can hear them!) Maybe I'll put the laundry away instead. I feel so weird when I'm doing nothing, even though I'm sick.

(I think I'm feeling better because about an hour ago, we had the BEST. MEDICINE. EVAR. Score!)

I am fretting about money again. In my frantic effort to get my credit card balances down, I spent my whole paycheck the day I got it, and now I'm counting the days until Thursday, when I get paid again. I am starting to order holiday gifts for family members and I feel so silly being so frugal, but I'm all kinds of tapped out. It felt good to splurge on Jennifer for Christmas, but now with an impending cross-country move in the late summer, I'm wondering if it was a good idea.

My ex has finally paid off all the money he owes me. I will miss that extra money per month that I was using to supplement my income. I am holding onto his big $1000 check to open a savings account with it, for the move. Hopefully we can pull this off. Jennifer would like to /buy/ something rather than /rent/ something, but I'm not sure how feasible that will be, especially if we move to the Boston area. Not right now, anyway, unless she wins the lottery.

I don't know. I'll just go back to writing out holiday cards.

Funny though it may seem, O Holy Night is my favorite also. Part of the reason being a commercial on tv that had a little boy singing it, and then his older brother arrives unlooked for from the storm and joins the song. Do you remember that commercial?

No, I've never seen that commercial. But it amuses me in some ways that I'm so fanatical about celebrating all the winter holidays, but I do love those Christian carols. I guess it's nostalgia, but "O Holy Night" is just a pretty song. I used to love singing it in the shower.

Fall on your knees!
Oh hear the angel voices!

I also like "Angels We Have Heard On High."

Angels We Have Heard On High.

I am kicking myself for agreeing with Himself to save the cost of a professional family portrait this year because we've done three sittings so far and I still don't have an image worth printing yet. Hopefully tomorrow afternoon's attempt will go well.

Totally Winter Wonderland. Because when you grow up in Florida, it makes no sense. Sleigh bells? Snowman? Meadow? What kind of strange language are you speaking?

So then when I was working in the mall in Florida and the Star Search auditions came around in the middle of a sweltering July, of course I had to go sing "Winter Wonderland" during my lunch break (or at least 15 seconds of it - those auditions were way worse than "American Idol"!)

Dude, that's so awesome. I love when oen person's reality isn't like another's. I remember (thanks to the wonders of the Internet) when I started chatting with a boy who didn't know what a seagull was. I was like, "ARE YOU MAD??!?!? It's a SEAGULL!!?"

Ha. You are my favorite American Idol.

Oh, I like "Do You Hear What I Hear?" a lot, too. It reminds me of my days in the Children's Choir.

You totally crack me up ALL THE TIME. Promise me that when we move to Massachusetts, you will hang out with me and make me laugh in person. And then we will kiss all those girls after we rob the bank. Okay, well, probably not that last part.

HA HA HA, I love the 12 Pains song! When I was at home yesterday writing holiday cards, I called up [livejournal.com profile] rizzo41 and left a voice mail that just said, "Ho ho, sending Christmas cards!"

Hangovers!

Way too difficult to hone in on just one, but here's a list:
  • The First Noel performed by Crash Test Dummies
  • O Holy Night performed by Eric Cartman
  • God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen performed by Sarah McLachlan and Barenaked Ladies
  • Have A Holly, Jolly Christmas performed by Burl Ives
  • We Three Kings
I should point out that I love Christmas music, but I absolutely will not tolerate it before Thanksgiving. Over the River, by the way, is a Thanksgiving song. Did you know that?

There aren't nearly enough Thanksgiving songs, so I'm reworking Good King Wenceslas...
Crazy old Bill Wenceslas,
ate his brother, Stephen.
Cooked his skin a golden brown,
deep and crisp and even.
Served with wine and pumpkin pie,
The banquet was delicious.
The guests remained quite ignorant
Not in the least suspicious.

"Bill, my boy, this feast is fine,"
lauded Uncle Sidney
As he quickly helped himself
To one more piece of kidney.
Yeah, it's a work in progress.

I agree with you about the before-Thanksgiving stuff. I mean, I know in my head I should be doing holiday preparations before Thanksgiving (to save on crunch-time), but I just /can't/. It's just not right!

On a different holiday note, we'll be getting a tree tonight. Oh yay! Time to break out the holiday music!!
