My favorite grad school professor died on Saturday.
Jim Lantz studied Tae Kwon Do at the same studio where I took Kickboxing with Master Clements. Every time our class times would overlap, he would challenge me to a fight. Master Clements used to always tell him that I wasn't allowed to fight him because I would break him (even though Jim was a 2nd Dan black belt in TKD). When she would say that, Jim would threaten to fail me out of whatever class I was taking from him at the time. (I was a bit of a Jim Lantz groupie.) When I would tell him he had to know my name to fail me, he would threaten to kick my ass again.
I will miss you, Jim, even if you never did remember my name.
