I met some really amazing people when I worked at Philmont, and it's been a challenge to keep in touch with them because we've all moved so much and changed so much. Some of the best I've never managed to track down, like Anne Stefanich from Alaska or Crazy Kathy Moore from Oklahoma or Mary Ellen Wiggins from Massachusetts (full names posted on the internet in a desperate hope that someday one of them will Google her name). Le sigh. However, I've managed to hold on to some of my favorite people, and in the past few months, I've even converted two of them to LJ - the cream of the crop, I assure you. In the hopes of giving everyone a good laugh, I've scanned some particularly poignant photos.

The two of them also happen to be two of the smartest, well-read, talented creative writing nyerds in the country. Give it up for goddamnelfMike the Elfman and thelastbardBig B!

this is completely off-topic, but i have a second-cousin named Kathy Moore. i'm sure there is more than one Kathy Moore in Oklahoma, though. i just find it funny because part of my family has called her "crazy kathy" ever since she started having children.

That would be so wacky if it was the same woman. I can't imagine my Kathy having children, though I suppose she could say the same thing about me. Does she sing a song about buzzards to them?

I remember the candy necklace, but I am having trouble remembering the setting of the last shot. ANd I look like I just came out of the oven, my face is red. I will of course have to exact retribution, in the form of posting some photos of you from my collection.
ps. Congratulations on your concert's success!!

It was outside of a Wal-Mart. I don't really know why we were there, but heck, it wasn't terribly uncommon for us to be outside a Wal-Mart. :)

I look forward to seeing your photos.

p.s. Thanks!
