Um, are you just trying to get another mix CD out of me? If so, you might have succeeded in inspiring one (though, I was planning on making a disc of songs that make me giggle).

Did you already know about House Of Bamboo, or did I introduce you to that one?

It's one of my favorite songs.

Ha!

I don't have a mix CD of these songs, but I have a WinAmp playlist of these and other songs that make me smile, entitled (duh) Songs That Make Me Smile.

Speaking of "songs that make me giggle," you know what song both makes me think of you AND cracks me up? That "Pirates Who Don't Do Anything" song by the Veggie Tales. Jeeze, but that's funny.

Instant Pleasure - Rufus Wainwright

Good choice. I love this song.

One More Minute - "Weird Al" Yankovic

I'd rather rip my heart out of my ribcage with my bare hands and then throw it on the floor and stomp on it 'til I die... then spend one more minute with you.

Ha. Yeah, it's pretty amusing.

The Veggie Tales videos are all churchy and such, but the "Silly Songs With Larry" usually make me pee my pants.

I might have to include at least one song on the "Songs That Make Me Giggle" CD.

"...and I've never bathed in yogurt, and I don't look good in leggins..."

Just off the top of my head ...

I'd rather have all my blood sucked out by leeches,
shove an icepick under a toenail or two.
I'd rather spend eternity eating shards of broken glass,
Than spend one more minute with you.

Oh, here's a bit from another Lincoln song that makes me smile:
Even though I dis' you.
I still want to kiss you.
I love you and I miss you.
And I ...
wish that you were dead.

Hie thee over to here and take a gander. She's a cross-over from the jazz world, but with a style that makes her very suited to "pop" as well.

Trzetrzelewska is Polish and pronounced "CHEH-chuh-Lev-skuh." She goes by just "Basia." I only included the last name just because I can spell it. :)

Time and Tide was a hit for her, as was Run For Cover and maybe one or two more.

Oh, that Basia Trzetrzelewska! The first name looked familiar, while the last name looked like the product of an epileptic fit or perhaps a small animal running across the keyboard.

I do recall Time and Tide now. Good song. I'd say it makes me think of the late Eighties, but that's not entirely accurate, as I've been quite successful in purging that decade - in its entirety -from my memories. Either that, or I simply wasn't paying attention. The former seems like an accomplishment while the latter is definitely a shortcoming, so it's most likely the latter.

Thank you for the illumination.

In the afterlife....

Wow, that was a trip down memory lane....
