I love how you can go to the grocery store for "a couple of things" and end up spending $70. Viva la capitalism!

Bleh.

Did you go hungry? I can't go to the grocery when I'm hungry.

Shameless plug for my new favorite grocery store:

[livejournal.com profile] jadefu and I stopped having that problem when we started going to Trader Joe's. Of course, the closest one to you is way out in Dublin, so the extra cost in time and gas of getting there and back may not make it that much of a savings for you. :)

Damn. I need some new pictures. Only being able to switch between two just ain't cutting it.

Trader Joe's is about 20 minutes from our apartment and we go about once a month. But when we buy milk, etc. we go to the grocery store down the street. Or when we need to go on Sundays... because TJs is a MESS on Sundays.

We <3 Trader Joes!

No, not really. We just ended up buying a bunch of fresh fish, and that kind of adds up.

*drool*

Joe sucks. He only likes salmon. I like salmon, but not so much as other fishies. I caved and got steaks for tonight. If I went to Weiland's and bought fresh fish, I could spend HUNDREDS. You should see their shrimp.

I have to go mop the floor now. :P

I just did that last night. I was so happy to hear that my host family in Spain was ok (they live in the Basque country but travel a lot) and that my host sister Alicia is pregnant, I spent a poop load on baby gifts...yeah. I went for a couple of items....but the Mongolian Beef was fantastic. :)

Mmm, I looooove salmon! But I love all fish. Seriously. I have not yet found a seafood that I do not like. Yum.

I don't keep meat that bleeds in my house, because it squicks me out. So that leaves fish, sadly for Jen because she likes other meats. Aah well. FISH!

That's why I can't go to those stores like Meijer's that have groceries and then a whole department store. I don't know how people do it! If I went to one of those stores to buy groceries, I would need that lady's million dollar bills.

Your refrigerator probably looks much more stocked than ours. Plus, you seem to cook nightly, with real ingredients! We go out to eat too much, and do too many nightly activities that interfere with cooking. Maybe when we move, we'll take a lesson from you and buy more groceries and cook more meals.

Target has a direct link to my wallet. It's painful.

I know the feeling. Kayt and I can't go to the grocery store together without it being a $50 trip. It just always seems to add up. (It used to be $75, but we're buying a lot less packaged/convenience food, and that helps.)

We should buy less packaged food. We've been trying - most of the packaged food we get comes from Trader Joe's, and that's a little healthier anyway.
