judecorpDo you want to know what's scary? I'm going to have to, you know, work this summer. This is so very unfair. I know that real-life grown-ups do that thing we call "work" all year round, but well, I don't want to be a real-life grown-up! By a string of random events, I haven't worked during the summer in quite some time.
The last summer I worked was 2000. Seriously. And that was a temp job, because I was going to go back to school that fall. The summer of 2001 I was in school and had a little internship 2-3 days a week. The summer of 2002 I was looking for work after graduation. I ended up getting the job at Faith Mission on August 21st. The summer of 2003 I was unemployed from July 1st to September 29th. This summer, I will leave my job at the end of May and I absolutely /have/ to find some sort of employment, even temporary employment, ASAP. Because, you know, we'll need something silly called money.
It is going to be so very difficult to go to work every day. It's summertime! The living is supposed to be eeeeeeasy!

On an almost unrelated note, I applied for a Research Assistant position with some organization in Newton that is doing research on violence prevention services and AOD services. Do I /want/ an office research job again? Oddly, my research job at UMaine was the "professional" job I kept for the longest amount of time. We'll see what happens!
And I called the Dept. of Social Services to see what the status of my resume was. The woman on the phone needed the "position code." Of course I do not have such silly things. Why do they taunt me with silly things like DETAILS? Bah!
A pox on them, I say. A pox!!
