Potential Very Good Job
Apr. 20th, 2004 06:37 pmToday, while I was driving to Perry County for a home visit, I got a phone call. Caller ID listed it as "unknown," so I thought maybe it was my dad, and I answered it. (He has ID blocker on his phone.) Well, it wasn't my dad. It was a potential job opportunity with an amazing organization called Cambridge Cares About AIDS. (Heh, looking on their website shows that it runs the Youth On Fire drop-in center that
being_homeless has frequented. Name drop! Name drop!)
Yeah, so I was going about 65mph down a stretch of OH-33 with the windows wide open and this prospective employer calls. She asks me if I can talk and I blurt out that I'm in my car and I instantly become all kinds of frazzled. She asks, "Is this a bad time?" and I try to explain to her that I really want to take down her number so I can call her back, but I'll have to pull over. She graciously offers to email her number to me, and I spend the rest of the afternoon wondering if she really was going to, or chalk me up as a neurotic freak show.
Well, she emailed me. YAY! Now I can call her tomorrow. I'm pretty sure the position I applied for was "HIV Case Management Program Manager" which I am probably SO not qualified for. Heh, oops.
