Good idea down the drain

I can't get 3 Red Sox tickets for any of the games in June, except from a scalper (too much money) or on eBay (also too much money for poor seats). I knew they were popular and everything, but I thought I should be able to get three tickets for ONE game for my grandfather - one game all season! Sheesh, I went all the way through until August and the only time I could get 3 tickets was standing room only, and that's just not going to work for my grandfather. *sigh*

I filled out an online form to see if I could get "mobility impaired" seating for my grandfather since I don't even know if he should be walking up all the steps to the grandstand anyway. I just don't know what to do. I had this great idea and now I can't even do it because there aren't any tickets. They're all bought up by freaking scalpers. It makes me want to throw up.

Sigh.

have you tried boston.craigslist.org? i always see sox tickets listed on there. i've scored face value tickets to many a concert from craigslist...

I get my dad Red Sox tickets every year for his birthday. I always have a hard time getting TWO seats together. It's ridiculous. The past two years I was stuck getting my dad tickets for a Friday show instead of a weekend show and hoping he can get off work in time to drive down there. And Fenway is stupidly expensive. Sheesh! Good luck with the tickets!

Thanks - I ended up paying WAY too much for them, but I am justifying it in my mind by telling myself that I may not have too many more opportunities to take my father and grandfather to an early summer game.

Very true. I hope you had fun at the game. I had to suck it up and get obstructed view seats because it was all I could get of two seats together. I hope they aren't TOO obstructed!

One of our seats was next to a pole, so it was hard to see some of the screens but the field was unobstructed. It was a good time, even though they lost.

When are you going? Or did you just get the tickets for your dad?

I got a slip from the post office for the dolls. This after several angry phone calls to the post office, and finally having a rather clipped conversation with the foreman at the post office that so long as I didn't have to sign for anything I would never get one of these slips again. Motherfuckers. I can't wait to move out of this neighborhood. I'll call and yell at them again on Monday and should have them Tuesday. Yay!
