Oh hey, remember how I called that woman from On the Rise and she told me she didn't pass my resume on to the next round?

Yeah. Yesterday the Director called me to schedule an interview. I was so surprised because it totally caught me off guard! I will have to explain my surprise on Thursday afternoon when I have my interview. I didn't even know what to say, I was just like, "Uhhh, okay, I'll come in." What a dork!

I feel weird about it, because I'd totally resigned myself not to have this job and concentrate on The Cult. Heh.

In other news, tomorrow my Jennifer and I are going to help paint [livejournal.com profile] scirocco and [livejournal.com profile] siercia's house. Go go physical labor! (But I'm sorry I couldn't help [livejournal.com profile] stoic2them move - company stayed until 6:30! I'll make it up to you, Q!)

Dude, they would give me my very own fine City Year clothing (because it's required).

So you did City Year? If you did, can you tell me what you thought of the organization and stuff? (I have my second interview there tomorrow.)

I'll ask around and see if anyone I know has a friend with a truck for the Dresser of Massiveness.

Here's what I've learned from working closely with people who do hiring: THEY too are very busy people.

Often, when one has to wait a while for a call back/interview/second interview/response, it's because the supervisors/managers have so much else on their plate, not because they are deliberately ignoring you. Polite nagging and bugging seems to be a good strategy, and it's never gotten me in trouble.

Good luck! I hope the best job for you wins :-)

Dude, I don't mind waiting for a supervisor to get back to me. My confusion is because when I called the woman who did the phone screeing with me, she told me she wasn't passing my resume to the next round and I would not be getting an interview.

But apparently she had.
