Mandatory Retail Therapy
Jul. 6th, 2004 09:47 pmSometimes no matter what, you just have to spend a little bit of money. We went to Marshall's so I could find something to wear to the wedding this weekend. Since we're going to be in pictures, we have to kind of look decent, right? I tried on some /dresses/ (HA HA HA) but ended up buying a shirt that I will wear with some slacks or something. Or maybe I just like to say slacks. Slacks slacks slacks. Jen wanted to go to the mall to look for a shirt, too, so we ended up heading down there. She liked this one shirt but ended up getting a shirt and jacket on clearance for less than the original shirt. Yay! We then bought a set of king size sheets since we will be getting our king size space bed soon and had no sheets.
Of course, then we went to Linens 'n Things because I thought my brother and Gretchen were registered there, but I was mistaken. So we ended up buying 2 king size pillows and a bed-in-a-bag. Now all we need is the freaking BED and we can build the platform. Wheeeeee.
No, we shouldn't be spending the money right now but we needed to put /something/ on our bodies and on the bed. Right? RIGHT??!?!
I have gone from having a lot of time to being all booked up. I have an interview/test with one temp agency tomorrow and another interview/test on Thursday. Thursday I also have a little phone interview type thing with
rebasayre's friend. Thursday night we're sleeping at my grandparents' house so we can leave from there to go to the airport. (It shall be interesting to see how that goes. Jen and I have never slept at my grandparents'.) We'll be in Missouri all weekend. Monday morning I have a second interview with the early intervention program in Dorchester. Tuesday I have a first interview with an agency in Malden (for a job I don't want but will take). And Jen had a pretty promising interview today and has a second interview with them tomorrow!
So it looks like we should be employed soon. YAY! *crosses fingers*
